Not sure if it goes here but "Is copper braided rounded IDE better or Silver braided?

The Products in question are on This page. They are the "ATA-133 - 10in UV Sensitive Copper Braided - Single Device" and "ATA-133 - 10in UV Sensitive Silver Braided - Single Device" (7th and 8th product in the list). Which one is the better cable? They are both same price. Thanks folks.

ATA133 == ATA133

This is like asking "which Ferrari is faster, the red one or the yellow one?"

The answer is "which color do you like better?"

Of course some will say that rounded IDE cables are to be avoided.

They both look the same, question is reagrding the braiding, copper or silver (is that for coloring only or is there some other benefit behind it?) And yes, I have heard the arguments for the Rounded IDE cables too. None of that in my thread here. Just an answer to my Q will be enough.

Just pick the one you think looks better...
The metal is usually covered by a plastic tubing anyhow, and ata/133 can't heat up the cords so much that the stuff starts to melt or something.

Coloring, no additional benefit.

I believe the cables the OP is considering have the clear (or tinted) PVC jacket so you can see the braid easily.
The wires themselves are copper either way - one is strand-tinned the other is not. Pick the one you like the looks of best. In a poor environment (high humidity, corrosive gases, etc.) the tinned braid will retain its appearance better. I like the looks of the copper myself which only looks good with clear PVC. The tinted PVC jackets look better with the tinned braid.

And the company you linked has way high prices: check here instead: SVC round cables.

QFT. Copper looks nice but I've already seen some where the copper was getting oxidized towards the ends.
