Saw this on an MSN site ()

MODS: This was posted on a very public M$FT site, so I'm guessing the coupon code should be "postable"... if it's not, I'll edit it later on.

I saw a biz card holder for $15, and a 3 pack of socks for $15... didn't have time to see what else was close to $15.

Receive $15 off toward your next order of $15 or more at eddiebauer.com!

At Checkout, enter Holiday15 in the Promotion Code box on the Payment & Delivery page. We'll adjust the order total for you. It's that easy. This offer expires 11/13/2001.

I'm at work, so didn't have time to check if it's already posted (for you repost-flamers).

This is great to have it you were planning on getting something at EB. I haven't tried this particular coupon, so I can't confirm if it works or not. However, be warned that EB has one of the lamest shipping/handling/tax deals going. If your state has a sales tax you get charged, since they have a nexus in every state. You get charged foolishly high shipping - standard UPS ground rates (somebody tell these guys about FedEx ground for gosh sakes). I mean $6 for a small shirt in a plastic baggie - that's nonsensical. Then, to add insult to injury, they throw on a $3 handling charge on every order.

Don't get me wrong (and I really didn't intend to thread crap...really) I like Eddie Bauer's stuff. Hell, most of my casual stuff comes from them. But unless they'll let you use the coupon in the B&M stores, the S/H/T thing just kills it for me. BTW - if you order from the phone in a retail store, they'll waive the shipping charge (but not the handling). Just remember that your $15 "freebie" is going to run you $9 after the coupon but applying the s&h.

Then again, if your wife likes the $45 jeans they sell and you find 'em on their 2 for $50 sale, apply the coupon...now you're talking some savings - practically buy one get one free! (Did it last year...what a coup!)

Enjoy!

How do Eddie Bauer jeans compare to Old Navy?

I miss the durability of Levi's but I refuse to shell out $50 for a pair of jeans.

Over the past several months I've received 6 postcards in the mail with these $15 off $15 coupons. I wonder what the heck is going on with their advertising strategy.

Holy crap.... sorry, I kinda jumped the gun on posting... should have checked the shipping rates (it got stuck on processing when I added stuff to my cart). Plus, after spending quite some time trying to figure my old password/login for Anandtech, I gave up and created a new one and just posted this first thing...

Yeah, that shipping and handling is crazy and kills the deal... damn EB!!!

(Look at me... crapping my own thread....;) )

I have an Eddie Bauer B&M near me and got one of those postcards. So I went into the store and bought 3 pair of socks for 16.50 - 15.00 = 1.50 (I could have gotten 3 pair for 15 exactly, but liked these better.)

I don't think this deal is as good if you don't have the B&M store, though.

Yeah, if you get one of the cards in the mail, the B&M is the way to go. I've never tried calling in one of the codes from the store (no shipping charge). I also haven't seen a paper one lately, so I don't know if they're "no photocopies or reproductions" limited.

As for the jeans, I've found them to be just a notch below Levi's in durability, and every bit as comfortable. I, too, gave up on Levi's when the price of their seconds passed the $40 mark. The standard 5 pocket EBs run $30 all the time, and rarely go on sale (see my above post about occasional 2 for $50). I'm pretty hard on clothing, but have no complaints. Of course, YMMV.
