not so good results from my xp-m

ok heres what i got...xp-m 2500, nf7-s 2.0, 512mb pc2100, gf4 ti4400, fortron 235w, slk 700
im running a divider to keep the memory at ddr266, fsb is at 200, i can only get this to stay stable at 2.1ghz...i can keep 2.1 stable at 1.65v cannot get 2.2 stable even at 1.85...i'm afraid to push it any higher than that...whats holding my overclock back? im thinking its my psu or my divider on the memory...does using a divider for the memory keep you from achieving good results? i have an antec truepower 430 on the way...should be here in 2-3 days...i'll upgrade the memory to some pc3500 soon as well....just wanting some opinions on this

it's your psu and your memory. once you get a new psu and new memory, expect 2.5ghzish. 🙂

thats kinda what i was figuring...once i get the psu in think i can get up to 2.5 or so as long as i run the memory with a divider?

Dude, it's unlocked...just cap the freq at whatever the ram will do then up the multi.

Yes, but only minimally if the RAM isn't in sync. Increase the multiplier now, set the FSB to 133 and once you get the faster RAM bump the FSB up and multi back down.

Of course, you may still need the new PSU to get higher, but you won't know 'til you try.

and you can go over 1.85v if you want to as well. i am running my axp-m at 2.6GHz 2.0v and it stays nice and cool at ~42c under load. of course, that is with a sp-97 and a 92mm tornado, but im just saying that you can push 2v if you watch the temps.

yeah, as others said, keep your system at 133fsb, and crank up your multiplier. You should be able to use a multiplier of 17 and voltage of 1.65V - 1.7V at most in most cases. But keep in mind that every cpu oc's differently. You will probably see 133x18 or 133x18.5 as your maximum stable overclock with 1.8V or so.
