Not smart stuff you've done to your poor computer

I have a few things...

1. Get a brand new P2 400 and kill it by putting too much paste and running it at 448. That was just stupidity.

2. This summer, I come home from college and have all my stuff. I just throw it all on the floor in my room. My mom has redone my room so there is no room for my stuff so its just all in boxes and stuff on the floor. I'm going to be at home for a few weeks before I leave to spend the summer in CA and no internet on my computer is annoying me.

I decide share my parents dsl, so I go to network our computers. I take my parents computer, the biggest additroncs case, and put it on its side and take a door off. I put in the network card or something and boot the computer leaving it on its side missing the door.
On the desk is 2 monitors 2 keyboards 2 mice and theres no room. So to get to my parents keyboard i push mine, which is on top of theirs, off to the side. I dump a can of coke. A huge puddle of coke starts to form on the desk under everything and it takes me 10 seconds to notice... I notice it and quickly pick it up.
I see this big puddle running for the edge of teh desk, right below is my parents computer on its side. I'm triping over everything tring to push the case out of the way, but all my boxes of stuff are in the way and i can't just kick it outa the way. So i grab my win2k cd (i love you win2k) and use it to deflect the stream of coke falling from teh desk. It falls directly above the mobo so it woulda hit the cpu directly probably, however the cd deflects it 10 inches to the side and it misses the case.
When most of it has fallen I lean against the table so my shirt soaks up anything left. I look down and the comptuer seems to be fine, no smoke or anytyhing and the screen is normal. I click on a IE window and the computer freezes. I look closer at the mobo and theres little coke splashes behind the cpu around the power connector. I freak out and unplug everything and wipe up as much as i can. I use toilet paper wraped around a pencil to get the little drops. I look for drops and after bout 4 minutes of not seeing any more I try to boot the computer... w00t it boots. Then I hugged my win2k cd, win2k owns btw.

3. So I leave my parents house and go stay with my gf in CA. I took apart my computer nad put it in my luggage. I never had time to ship my case however. So I get here and have my computer but no case. Instead of paying $30, what am i made of money?, i decide I don't need a case. I get a plastic top to some bucket type thing and put my mobo/ps/hds/dvd/cdr on it. Plug it all in and stuff and all is well. Only problem with this setup is to reboot or turn the computer on, there is no power button. I have to short the pins on the mobo. So at first I would count 5 pins over and short 5 and 6 and the comptuer would boot. All good.
I kinda get lazy doing this, its really hard to do at night. So I find if i start at pin1 and drag the screwdriver across down the row, eventurally it hits 5/6 and the computer boots. THis way i can just reach under the desk and do it. One night my gf is sleeping and i'm tring to reboot the comptuer without turning on the light. I'm tring to see wehre the hell the pins are, and i have a fork to short htem. I find them and try to hit them wiht the fork. Not sure what I hit, but i see this huge ass spark and there was some smell. I was like "holy f8cking sh8t, no way can i replace this sh8t" and my heart starts pounding and stuff. My gf wakes up cause i musta screamed like a girl when I thought my computer was dead. I turn the lights on and count 5 pins over and make sure not to hit antyhign else and nothing happens. I hit them a few times and no computer. I unplug the computer from the wall and plug it back in and try again and it boots... W000T! OMG seeing windows boot almost made me cry.

4. The DSL company f8cks up and instead of switching the dsl to the other line like we asked, canceled the 2nd phone line and the dsl account. So in the end they say 3 week till they turn the dsl back on or so. So we go out and buy a 56k modem till then for $20. First I install it in my computer to do a few things I had to. Then my gf needed to check her email for jobs so I go to put it in her computer. I turn hers off and pull the side off. I put line the 56k modem up with the pci slot and push it in... the second it touches the mobo, before it was even in all the way, the computer turns on. I f8cking jump in my chair, that delta fan is scarry when it comes to life - whenn you don't expect it. I was like "oh f8ck" cause I barely had the card in when the power came on... Doubt i pushed it in perfectly parellel so one side was probably in more than anohter... anyways it didn't seem like a good thing. Computer boots... no problems 56k works fine.

You probably wouldn't trust me with your computer after reading this... least thats what people in IRC tell me when I tell them these stories... no one trusts me :(.

So anyone else wanna admit to some retarded stuff you've done?

BTW, none of that is exagerated at all... maybe the big ass spark.. it was only about 1.5-2 inches but thats freaking scary in a pitch black room.

And my frineds think I am bad for using a screw driver to act as a turbo switch. I had a Backard bell 486sx years ago, ehat a pice of crap. I was doing some work inside it ans got out of my desk chair. As I waslked away, i spun the chai around a bit and teh back of teh cahir grazed a little card of teh front of my loving PB. This card had the HDD light, turbo (remember that) light and teh turbo and reset buttons. the back of the chair managed to knock off teh tiny button that turned on of off the turbo mode, leaving my pc crawling along. I decide to fix this problam my self by using a screw driver to close the circut to turn turbo mode on, after a while i decided to use a ball of tin foil insted. I didnt have to worry about that being knocked out of position or the tabe giving way.
