Somthing new on my desktop, but XP isnt resuming from standby anymore. I hit the power button, the HD and fans power up, but the power LED keeps blinking and nothing else seems to happen

forgot somthing, it works on my second backup install of xp pro sp2

BIOS is set for S3, latest forceware drivers (nforce 3 250) SP2 etc...

I had a similar problem but it was related to video signal loss on switching users in WinXP. Didn't got any solutions to it on this forum.

don't know if you still have this issue ... but i found the problem with my computer
it was my wireless card ... the drivers have some issue with being put in and out of standby ... haven 't really looked for a solution yet

but if i disable my wireless connection it goes in and out of standby flawlessly -- though sound didn't work when i came back out

This problem has been around for about 10 years - and is the reason I never opt for either Standby or Hibernation. They are not reliable.

the problem is my computer is a media center pc ... so the sleep/hibernate functions are part of its functionality ... they are more than just extra conveniences.

my remote is essentially useless if i have to go to the pc and manually shut it down everytime... and manually start it up
