So, here's the story, whacked as it may be.

I'm a member of a local LANparty group called the Abattoir. (Website can be found at Abattoir.net). We have around 50 members. One of the members, Justin (AKA Ness) is a downright honest, good kid. Not to mention a freakin INSANE BF2 player. Just insane. Watching him play against us n00bs is like watching Kobe Bryant play a round of Basketball with a special education class.

One day, Ness logs in, and finds his global rank totally reset. To scratch. The only explanation given was that EA had "Evidence of cheating", mainly from knife-fighting (Before EA deemed it "Bad"). This was only garnered after the host of the Abattoir pestered EA multiple times, and a admin responded that there was no appeal, and to basically suck it up.

So Ness did. He sucked it up, and went back to the game. He got even better. It was now like watching rabid, starving wolves into the sheep herd. I mean a freakin' massacre.

He logged in today, and his FREAKING RANK WAS RESET AGAIN. At the SAME time, THIS is posted on our LAN BBNs.

Why would EA give the criteria they use to catch you cheaters? Does punkbuster or any other game company for that matter? Like they are really going to tell you how they deemed you a cheater so you could circumvent it and continue cheating. They dont just say ahh what the hell we dont like this guy lets strip him. You guys all need to take a common sense pill and wake up.Why not play the game like a man and not kill your buddy over and over 100 times to get your knife badge, resupplies etc. You all are so quick to fault EA when all they are trying to do is rid the game of cheaters like yourself and make the game fun as it was intended to be. I mean look at your current stats on the tracker sites 65 kill streak for one round. SO you ran around a map and killed 65 people before dieing once? Damn your better than the top ten rated BF2 players like TA Firestorm and the like. I'm glad EA is doing something about the cheaters in BF2 and all future games. It is much needed with all the no skill players out there. Why don't you put away the MSX security hack and play for real or go play unranked servers where you can cheat all day. flame all you want I will never visit this site again just for the fact that an idiot like deathwish the successfull cellphone salesman that can't make a long distance call is a member. Oh and deathwish you look like a Frisco girlie man with your little "dot" aka nut tickler on your chin. Time to get a new avatar. Please!!!!!

This was posted by a member called "BF2Whinerhalt". His IP info told us he was posting from Redwood California, the home of EA Games. One of our members managed to quote that post before it was deleted by the author.

Ness didn't cheat. He's just really freaking good. EA has offered no explanation, or apology for insulting him so.

The members of our LAN have literally bought thousands of dollars in EA games. After this debaucle, I sure won't.

CLIFFS:

EA resets friend's global rank.
EA Explains that friend was "exploiting", which he wasn't.
Friend gained back rank from lots of hard work
EA resets rank AGAIN
EA makes insulting, uncalled for post on private BBNs

EDIT: People were complaining that there was no proof this guy was an EA employee.

This is the information we recovered.

He definitely sounds like a cheater.
I'm glad EA is taking steps to crack down.

you have no actual evidence that this is an EA employee.

i would think EA employees know how to spell "you're" rather than "your"

well, either way an IP traced to Redwood, CA doesn't instantly mean he's an EA employee. EA also has offices in Los Angeles and I'm sure other places. Who knows where their BF techies work out of.

More likely the poster is an angry opponent who's reporting the player as a cheater to EA with manufactured evidence and EA is resetting his account.

I guess we can chalk up reason 467 on why your life should not revolve around video games

Also, not to mention:

Other threads concerning EA games have mysteriously dissapeared off the BBNs. For no apparent reason.

So, nobody has any comment on this? That EA Games is resetting people's rank that they worked long and hard to achieve not once but TWICE, then actually tracks that person down on a private BB, and makes an account simply to mock the people that play their games?

Nothing? Bueller?

lol
why is it that all cheaters are "downright honest, good kids"?
ever hear of ip spoofing?

i'm sure EA's employees really give 2 sh!ts about some cheating punk enough to track him down to a forum and mock him.

why isn't that cheating bastard banned? or did he go out and buy another copy of the game?
i would think they would ban people if they got caught cheating instead of just wiping their stats. EA isn't harsh enough on these assholes

WTF do you want? I haven't seen anything that makes me think you are the innocent, honest gamers and EA is out on some company-wide personal vendetta against your "clan."

If you don't like it, stop buying EA games.

You get access to better weapons with a higher rank. There is a defenite benefit to working at the game.

read a little bit slower. There were 65 KILLS without dying. Knife kills were mentioned just before that but it was not mentioned in that sentence.

Some people are just that good. Yes most people cheat to do such a thing but whatever. Get over it, live your own life and stop getting so upset that EA games reset your friends score. If he's that good than he'll just go get a high ranking again. If you are really upset then have your friend contact EA games himself and tell them he would like to prove his skills to them on a computer that they provide so he can prove to them he isnt cheating. Aside from that go about your own life and quit playing video games so much.

I read through that link you provided, either they're all full of it, or an EA employee is being a dumb dick.

Either way, this discussion should just stay on that forum.

it's still pretty easy to get an insane kill streak going w/jets. before this latest patch when anti-air was useless I had a streak of about 100 kills w/the J10 on wake island.

I'm curious. I wonder what the backlash would be like if a Lvl 60 WOW player had his character deleted for no reason.
