Hello all,

I have something weird happening, whenever I view my shares or otherwise enumerate my network, whether locally or across my small personal network, instead of showing my regular computer name, it has suddenely on its own decided to always show "NOT READY YET" as the label. I am however still able to access the shares as normal.

For the life of me I can't figure ot why, and it never becomes "ready." All computers on the network are winxp.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to remedy?

TIA

Click on the Start button, point to Settings, then click on Control Panel.
Double-click on the System icon in the Control Panel.
Click on the Computer Name tab in the System Properties window.
Read what it says next to "Full computer name:"
If it says "NOT READY YET" then you, or someone else with access to your computer, have simply changed the name of your computer, and you can change it back to something else by clicking on the Change button.
