Best of luck and speedy recovery!

Have them re-break and fix your toe while in there.

Did you ask them to save the appendix for you? You could put it in the bottom of a bottle of tequila & have a conversation piece.

That was quick. I think I was in for 2 days when I had mine taken from me. Doped me up on morphine too. It was glorious.

Did the appendex hurt? Similar, yet different experience. To comfort you.

I know a littler over 2 years ago I drastically lost weight, (100lbs in 7 months) from dieting. [Yes it was a healthy diet, but since I was really heavy it lost faster than the 2/wk period]

And in doing so, my gullbladder inflammed. From being too used to always being under constant "heavy" foods to not. It hurt if I ever ate more than 5g of fat in food in a 5hr period. Basically I was down to cream of wheat and 0g fat pretzels. more or less.

(Worst case before I kew the issue, was xmas I ate ALOT of fatty stuff, and was in so much pain puking bile. 3hrs hurting so bad I finally gave in and got a ride to the ER to check it out. All tests turned out nothing was wrong. Thus explaining to my doctor we agreed to remove the gullbladder because it seemed like the main cause, even though tests didn't show issues with it)

After surgery I remember coming to, and about 30min later in a recovery room the surgeon shows up and lets me know my gullbladder was inflammed to about 4x the normal size.

It sucked.

So here is to you OP. Hopefully it didn't hurt to bad and are fine in a few days.

Get better soon. I was in the hospital a week or so after they took mine out. Man that shit was uncomfortable. Funny thing is my parents were doctors and they were like oh you just have the flue. It didn't start hurting like crazy until the day that I had to go to the ER.

I told you to go to Urgent Care ... did you go there first or directly to the ER?

Plan on having someone around when you're back at home afterwards to help you sit up from a lying down position and also get off the toilet after dropping a duce.

Wife went through that years ago and was a surprise for both of us how much assistance she needed to get up.

wow you are getting out fast. i spent 2 days in the hospital. though the apendix was not where they thought it would be. they ended up cutting some stomach muscle and now i have a 3 inch scar that looks like a smile.

edit:the worst part of teh whole situation was the feeling before. i thought i was going to die. i felt sick, dizzy etc. at first i just put it off until my wife made me go to urgent care unit. NOTHING i would want to do again.

If it doesn't explode or have complications like yours, recovery is really fast for surgery for that and the gullbladder.

Using myself as anecdote for my gullbladder. I was gone after waking up withing 2-2.5hrs.

But yes, those muscles in the area of the body will be sore for at least a day or 2, so definitly stay seated [recliner] as much as possible (do not lay down too much, as it will hurt much more trying to sit up, and when you do go slowly.)

Hope you're doing well.

Mine went bad when I was 17. The arthroscopic surgery went without a hitch, but when they removed my air tube, it created a kind of hickey on my trachea, or a 'Negative pressure pulmonary oedema.' Instead of going home the next day, I ended up staying in the hospital for 3 or 4 more. When I woke up in recovery, I could barely breath. They gave me morphine.

I'm sorry, but for some reason this really bothers me. It is gallbladder.

And to sunny. Be glad it didn't rupture. That is where the real problem and pain is. Be very happy you caught it ahead of time. Your only problem after surgery will be muscle weakness due to being cut. It'll heal pretty quickly, and you'll be back to normal in no time.
