i love NOFX.. punk is my all time fav type of music

i find computer junkies mostly like techno or hip hop... maybe metal... but not punk.. maybe im just an idiot and maybe it's just 3:30 in the morning

NOFX isnt punk, anything you can listen to on KROQ isnt punk... Now were gonna have the whole "whats punk rock" argument

EDIT: Nofx used to be punk like a lot of bands but they sold out like they said they wouldnt

- Does NOT make a band automagically "lose" their genre
- Does NOT mean a band has "sold out". Do you know what it means to "sell out" ?

In addition, while I will agree that part of the punk mentality is the whole "fight the system" mindset, a punk band can still play punk even if they have "sold out". Whether it's garage punk or over-produced studio crap, it's the music itself that determines the genre, not who funds it.

the only problem with people who listen to punk is that... many stop listening when they "mainstream". I think that's stupid. I mean, they are selling their music, it's their art, they made it.... why can't they sell it and make money out of it? One good example is Blink-182. So yeah, yeah.... they got really popular, but whether you like it or not, they still play punk (in this case Pop-Punk), and still have some punk "attitude" there.
Same thing goes for the Offspring.
I love all kinds of punk... pop-punk, skate-punk, hardcore-punk, etc... hell I listen to Emo. As long as they have awesome lyrics, nice sound, and a cool attitude, I will listen to it.
