Not liking the new Google Maps so far

1. It doesn't drop a pin on the city you just searched, so when I zoom out for a better perspective, I can't locate the city
2. No more zoom slider
3. Slower

No My Maps/Places is a deal breaker for me.

It's crazy that they took this away. I can no longer plan out my trip and follow the blue line.

BOO

I switched back to the old version, so maybe they have added the feature since, but you can't do multiple destinations. Also there is no map scale, street view is clunky, and the entire thing takes longer to load. Also I've had it crash google chrome multiple times...

I hope they get those features added/fixed before they make the new version mandatory

I hated Google maps before, don't really feel any different about the new version. Both Apple & Google have a long way to go before I give up my stand alone Garmin.

its not a standard feature on most cars and is a costly and pointless option

Stock navigation sucks anyways, I'm shocked people even pay for it....or Garmin/navigation/aftermarket units.

Google maps is free and even with the latest shitty updates IMO it's still much better than my shitty Garmin that's been collecting dust every since I got my Android hehe

So you don't have navigation in your vehicle? I didn't know that was possible these days.

Really? You like paying $2k for worse nav than you have on your phone? Even if nav is relatively good when released, its hopelessly outdated in a couple of years. Plus they typically lack traffic data without an extra fee, have expensive map updates, etc, etc.
