The action is great, the graphics are good too. My only beef with the demo is that I can't select my LCDs native resolution. Why in this day and age can't I select 1280x1024????

I hate 1280x1024, should be 1280x960 anyway.

Why can't there be both? Do you hate widescreen resolutions too?
Igowerf, ignore him, he obviously doesn't comprehend that some LCDs have a native resolution of 1280x1024.

Qbert was cool ... so you're saying there was a Qbert 2?

i think there was on some console 😉 . . . not sure though

on the original Q*Bert i could play - literally - all day on a quarter
[i'd quit with dozens of extra lives or the arcade would have to close . . . i don't think it could actually be 'beat'.]

ANYway - retire SS2 for SystemShock2 . . . it's a classic game but has been surpassed and there hasn't been a sequel for over 6 years. 🙂

vetoed
Negative. We'll just find someone else to carry and then we'll vote on it. 😉

System Shock 2 deserves to be called by it's full name anyway.

I'm a fan of the Serious Sam games ever since I played through the first one coop and was the first guy to see the end boss behind us. It was a holy sh** moment that will keep me playing. I admire the devs for their style, for selling the game below typical game prices, and for breaching a market typically dominated by a realism kick.

It's ain't serious unless you're playing Coop. 😉

As for no weapon sounds... um... I could have sworn there were weapon sounds. Are you sure it just isn't a bug?

If I can get some friends to play, I'll be buying this.

Quoted for Truth

retire "SS2" for System Shock . . . the fans are getting old [and senile] and your negative votes don't count [anymore] :Q

😀

The first reviews are in, GameSpot gave the PC version 6.9(and the Xbox version 6.6!).🙁

SSam1 was fun but forgettable so I didn't have high hopes for SSam2. Plus now everything's a little too cartoony and festive for my liking.

Still I had quite some fun killing almost everything with only that homing pistol. And turning NETRICSA into a cute Brit chick was a nice touch. 😛

I don't like that gamespot review. I like gamespy much more because I like the way their review staff handles a lot of games. They like to approach stuff within context. Thus they approached SS2 with CO-OP in mind and here is a preview of their innitial CO-OP play through. I expect a full review sometime this week hopefully. The preview is a great read though and gives you a nice idea of the game as played by a CO-OP group of gamers (SS2 being one of the VERY few games where you can have an experience of this nature).

Serious Sam2 full review

only a 6.9 😛

but people gave it a 7.5-8.1

soon as i get to a store, i let you know . . .

I just got it today. The movies stutter and the game freezes my pc at times when it loads a movie or during a movie.

I have a high end sli system w/ plenty of memory, etc. I installed the patch. Any ideas on these problems?

What Nvidia vid drivers are you using if you dont have any problems?

DDDUUUUUUUDDDDDEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
SSSSWWWWWWEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTT!!!

This game is great! My friends and I are having a LAN next weekend to play through the entire game (in one sitting). It will be awsome!! 7 people blasting their way through mayhem and destruction. I can't wait.

The ONLY thing I haven't like about it: It Feels slower than the first ones.
Although it might just be me. 😀

I got the full retail game the day it hit the shelves at GameStop and it is a blast. I'm reinstalling windows so no SS2 for me for another day, but I can't wait to get back into it. My only gripe is the limited resolution selections. Why no 1280x1024? That is a VERY common resolution these days due to LCD monitors.

It's not playing smoothly on my 9800Pro. Time for a NEW CARD! (got a 7800GT sitting in the box waiting for me)

Sam is great; no brains, no strategy, just pure stupid escape.
