Why the hell are ya'll talking about me? Keep this on topic, making fun of cybersh!t. 🙂

It's called N-E-F-F-I-N-G

BTW, Its a little forum called Off-Topic.
I pride myself on keeping that to a bare minumum, thank you 🙂

I not proud, but I actually believed shawn for the first few weeks of "next we'll be back online". But after continued mis-information I've given up.

I've also come to the realization that there's no way that shawn can have a viable biz plan by giving out $4/year high bandwidth / diskspace plans.

It sounded great initially, but I didn't give it the "does that look right?" analysis enough.

You folks chan check out link for some chatting about CW and also look at #cw-supporters for those people who still believe that CW is a viable entity.

Check out link for information regarding CW and other hosts to possibly use.

Good luck to those who are still with em.

Hi,

I'm having trouble getting to my website. I'm hosting with Cyberwings, so I thought I might find some help here. I tried to read through these posts, but, man, there's over a THOUSAND of 'em! Anyway, sorry if this has been asked and answered, but, is cyberwings having some kind of trouble? Or maybe I don't have something setup correctly?

Oh well, I'm sure whatever the problem is, it will be cleared up in a couple of days, at the most.

Thanks!

this is the most nefffing thread I've seen it gets my vote for the Nef thread of the year!!!
I wish they would move this sucker to off-topic

If I were you I'd switch services -- they're pretty much down for the count for the past month...

Anyone read this Gem yet? lol!
(www.cyberwings.com is where i got this)
Announcements made by Shawn White, CEO of Cyberwings in chat

room on July 24, 2002 at approximately 1am EDT

CEO-Shawn - Due to an intermittent equipment failure at our new dc (a piece of equipment we have replaced twice so far in 48 hours), I do not feel comfortable posting the QUESTIONNAIRE to users yet. I want to be sure this piece of equipment (A Media Converter - our router & servers are fine & well) is 100% stable before I proceed.

I do estimate that our questionnaire will be online sometime today (Wednesday) with the ability for users to post information into our database for us to work on.

CEO-Shawn has been working today with our equipment provider to ensure stability on that converter - so far, since it was replaced Tuesday morning at 2:00am, it has been almost 100% stable except for 10 minutes this afternoon when they powered DOWN our circuit while replacing fiber tips that were deemed questionable.

CEO-Shawn wants to be able to deliver 100% stable, non-questionable stability and I do not want to move ahead quite yet until we fix this one last piece. I hope you all can understand. I will return sometime during the day tomorrow to update everyone and to be here live when the questionnaire goes online. Thanks for everyone's support

(my take)
Read: I am a scam artist. If this were the truth, I would have put up the orig. Cyberwings page, but I am not done remaking it yet, even though I have a perfectly good backup handy, or so I've told you all *snicker*. The truth is, I am just waiting for my boyfriend to get his approved time off from his job so we can take that trip to maui that you all have been so kind to finance for us. Please visit www.imagoddamnsucker.com for more info. Thanks.

Subject: 19m - Maine - USA

Hi there! My name is Shawn, I'm a 19yo GWM in Portland, Maine... I'm looking
for some really neat, honest, open people to talk with... no matter the race,
orientation, creed... I enjoy poetry, travelling, walking on the beach, late
nights talking, and am a hopeless romantic at heart. I've been through a lot
in my life, and am a very understanding and comforting person. If there are any
good people left out there, write 🙂 It's hard to find decent people now-a-days....

Waiting and hoping....

Subject: Roommate needed!
Newsgroups: me.general

Hi there,

I live in Scarborough, Maine right now and am considering moving into
another area (portland, south portland, perhaps scarborough, westbrook,
etc.) and I'm looking for a roommate. I'm 19, Male, gainfully employed
(usually TOO many hours per week <g>) and am gay. Would like to find a
GLB, or gay friendly straight person, male or female, non smoker,
gainfully employed, too - for a roommate situation. I'd prefer only one
roommate, though I'm sure situations could be worked out to accomodate
more if the need should arise. I'm very easy going, flexible, and I'm not
promiscuous or "flamboyantly" gay - don't worry 🙂 If there is anyone out
there interested, leave me e-mail either here on AOL or, preferably, on
swhite@alrescha.caps.maine.edu

Thanks!

Shawn White

Follow the LINKS HERE and make up your own mind about this Sc&m Bag 🙂

If this is the same Shawn, I bet he didn't find that honest people, and so decided to travel alone.😀
Edit: It must be him, late night talking too.🙂

Holy Sh!t
i was about to give up on cyberwings and go w/ someone else for hosting
but both of my webistes are back up. no data was lost.
hopefully they will stay up now

EDIT- it looks like i'm still on the rackshack servers, not in the new CW facility, based on IP address

At the risk of being called all sorts of nasty things, my cyberwings site just-came-back-on-line!! It pings as 64.246.28.123. My site was one of the rackshack sites that stayed up the longest. Who knows if it'll stick around, but it works right now.

Yes, I would love to post the address here, but I'd rather not have the HD effect hit it. I apologize profusely for this. I'm hoping someone can track the ip to it's location -- maybe rackshack just put my site back on line, or maybe the "CEO" has a server up and running.🙂

<EDIT>
Oh good, I'm not alone...

All about "me" 10/8/99.

My name is Shawn and I am currently living in Southern Maine! 🙂 I moved here from a little town
about 2 hours north of here called Searsport where I grew up with my grandparents for 19 years. I have one real brother, one step brother, three step sisters, and three half brothers.

After graduating high school in June of 1995 I went onto college at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts to study Computer Science and Romance Languages, minoring in English. I left Northeastern after one semester and transferred to the University of Maine at Orono where I majored in Romance Languages and Communications. I left the University of Maine after one semester and pursued my own business in place of a formal education. When the consulting business slowed down to the point where I had very little to do with my time I decided it was time to move on and find something more interesting to do, most likely in a different part of the State ... Southern Maine!

I moved to Southern Maine in December of 1996 on a spur-of-the-moment decision. I came here with very little money and no assurances at all. I lived with friends while I got on my feet. Shortly after moving to this part of the State I landed a position with a Biotechnology firm in their Corporate Procurement Department (purchasing). I have been with them since March of 1997 now and am very gainfully employed doing a variety of purchasing for this corporation. From hardware and software to serums and outside services, I've done it all! Up until May of 1998 I was the youngest person employed by this Corporation out of 2000 employees - and still the only person under 21 to hold a Corporate position (we don't like to advertise that too much *Smile*).

Currently I am concentrating in the Information Technology Corporate Procurement arena focusing on asset management solutions, open licensing issues, asset retirement, IT life cycle management, break/fix solutions and remote help desk administration services for our offices domestically and internationally. On the side I dabble in the microbiological, electronic components (inductors, resistors, relay bridges) procurement areas and have just recently developed and interest in the peptide synthesis arena for our corporation.

Okay, now that I've bored you to death... what do I like to do for fun? Well, I *LOVE* to travel and drive and read poetry! I love to play on the net, work on my home page, write e-mail and keep in touch with people ... regularly! ;-) I am most productive when working at home, so therefore many weekdays and evenings you can find me online (AOL, IRC, ICQ, etc.) and in the background I plug away at work related materials. I'm a work-a-holic, I have to admit - but someday it will pay off, right? ;-) Or so they tell me!

I find myself grabbing a pad of paper often (no matter where I am or whose pad of paper it is!), sitting down and just writing random essays about absolutely nothing - or sometimes absolutely something! I guess it all depends on who the reader is. As this web site expands I'm considering putting a web page with some essays on it.. and perhaps some poetry, too. It has been almost 2 years since I have had a web page so bear with me if I do not keep it updated as many people would like - or as often! If there is anything specific you'd like to see on here, please let me know! 🙂

To be continued ...

My site is back up. That's incredible. I thought it was never gonna come back up. Hopefully this isn't temporary. Check my sig for website.

I ddin't really pay attention to this post until it reach 1000+ post, I see the title all the time about cyberwings is down. For me the entire time my site was fine or it was down and I don't know about it. Becuase I didn't had anything on the site except some ebay pictures. I use the email all the time and it seem to be fine. I just try to login the server admin page and it works too. It is too late for me to read this post, don't feel like looking at 1000+ posts. So what is up with cyberwings? I can still go to there homepage and their support forum. Does this only effect the new customer? I signed up when cyberwings deal hit this froum.

For all you guys that got your panties in a wad,
my 2 sites are back up and looking good! 😀

I can understand some of you for being pissed if you spent
considerable money and your sites were unavailable, but mine
were not "critical" websites and I only paid like $3.90 to host
each for a year. I can sit here and waste my time bitching like
alot of you on here (the ones that also only spent <$4./year),
or just sit back and hope for the best! Well, it seems that it has
worked out so far. I'm just glad I didn't jump ship to another
host, like some of you, 'cuz I did consider it.
Mine was just a personal site and no major deal.

I know people will still bitch that they've been down for 2+ weeks
or something and will still blast Shawn and not take back what they've
said about him. But, I can't bitch too much, considering what little
I paid him to host my sites! A little better communication would've
been nice, but considering everything was down, I don't know if that
was possible!

My 2 cents!!
