NOT HOT! Click Citi to end 1/03

Just received a letter from citibank telling me that effective
january 31st, 2003, the click citi product will be terminated for
existing customers, and will be converted to a dividend platinum select.

Just called them up to get some more info on previous purchases, etc etc.

The claim center has no information about this letter, and they suggest calling back in a few days (figures).

Anyways, looks like no more price protection for internet purchases other than thru select amex cards.

i got the same letter.

I guess I will have no need for that credit card anymore, i used it for every internet purchase.

Oh well, good thing i just got an AMEX Gold card.

It was great while it lasted though

🙁

and i earned 12 bucks last month too :/

edit... all you people doing price protection killed it! is it 60 or 90 days that its good for? i'm going to go through my purchases and see if i can get any money out of them (only used it once before)...

Unfortunately, I think BVG from AMEX will go this route eventually as well. Too much "abuse" goes on with price matching to questionable vendors and things like price matching retail merchandise to OEM or gray market stuff. It will be a sad day when it's gone.

Damn it. I thought they would at least have to wait until the expiration date on the card to cancel it.

The dividend card sucks too - they mail you a check for your 1% back and only in $100 increments.

Ya, getting price protection as well as 1% back EVERY STATEMENT was the greatest with click citi... Hmmmm, I think I'll have to ask Citibank for some EXTRA special treatment and perks from now on..

Oh, also, if I remember correctly, my Click Citi had the LOWEST purchase APR of ANY card I have. I think it's like Prime + 0.9% or something, so the rate was like 5.6% APR Variable. But rates have been low for so long it's great for those who carry balances! 🙂

I had a letter from citibank but I didn't read it.

I have beening using it for all my internet purchase. I didn't use it to pricematch and all I want is 1% back on next statement. It used to be 2% back for the first few months.

what about the citi diamond card, it has price protection listed on the benefits? i keep getting offers for it, but have yet to be approved...

some gal woke me up from my 13 hour slumber and asked me if i wanted price protection or something with my citibank card. i said no but signed up for a free credit report. figured i could always cancel for whatever program she signed me up for. she was nice ... it's christmas. gotta give those telemarketers something ... =) btw ... anyone know what this price protection business is?

so does that mean all the purchases made between now and jan 31 still qualify for the price protection? can anyone post the phone number for filing a claim again?

thanks!

Got a phone call today from their claim center telling me my citibank credit card doesn't have price protection on it.

Seems citibank has already switched the accounts over to the replacement program (dividend something or other), and
hasn't bother to notify the company that administor's the claims (probably on purpose).

Anyhow, they got another card, diamond preferred, which has price protection on B&M purchases.

No 1% back on this one though.

YOu win some, you lose some... i guess its back to amex for bvg!

Cheers
