$2000 seems rather low--wasn't your computer damaged?Originally posted by: tajdtj
I had one of these units explode and start a fire in my house last May. APC claimed that it was a fluke and paid my $2000 in damages.................. I guess there was a real problem:|

No didnt damage the computer, melted most of the external wires, burned the hardwood floor and smoke damage. Interesting note they called me friday and left me a message to call them back. My guess is it has to do with the recall but not sure.

Luckily my UPS is Cyberpower brand. No recalls on this brand yet.
btw...What kind of runtime were you people getting with those small UPS? My Cyberpower 725SL is rated at 400w and 725 AV, and yet I only get 9 minutes of backup time. Should I be getting more time? The box on my UPS says it should last 20-65 minutes! I have only my computer and monitor plugged in, and it only lasts 9 minutes. Here is my system.
Antec 400w case
(2) 7200rpm HD
(4) case fans
19" Monitor
got my BE350U @ CC during Black Friday. guess APC has to send another computer geek a new UPS, now. ;p
