For $75AR, it is way too hot. I'm pulling the trigger as well. I still have a $37 4650 I haven't even taken out of the box yet. I may just place it up for sale as is.

...if you can accept 1yr warranties
from their site:
Technical Support
All HIS graphic cards carry one year warranty. For more warranty information, you can contact your local retailer or regional distributor

wait isn't HIS 2 year warranty? I doubt it's 1 year, that sounds so little. Newegg site says 2 years.

Warranty Policy (United States)

HIS offers a 2-years product warranty for all product models in the North America Region. If you're having trouble with your HIS product, please contact our US technical Support to walk through troubleshooting.

look at the middle colums headed "Technical Support" - says one year

Edit- found out what the discrepency was- neweggs "Manufacturer Product Page" link takes you to the UN site, not US.
so yes- 2yr in US
http://www.hisdigital.com/us/support.shtml
so yeah- neweggs fault with the incorrect link 😉

Edit: The game is gone, promo still works. For me, it's 81.49 shipped.

Still a good deal, but there are other brands with better cooling solutions for about the same price.

Thanks OP, got one for the wife's pc. A great upgrade from a 7900GT for a great price!

Quick question, but does Newegg put the rebate info in the packaging? The link on the site now has a new set of dates (June 1st -> ) and I pulled the trigger Saturday.

No they don't. You might want to call customer service and see if they can email it to you.

Here is the link to the rebate:

Got my card yesterday. Very nice! It's quiet and runs quite a bit cooler than my 8800gt. Was a great deal!

Here is what I got back from HIS Customer service about the warranty:

Dear Mr Stormside,

Thank you for your enquiry for HD 4850.

HIS offers a 2-year product warranty for all of our product models.

HIS offers product warranties that maintain and repair faulty HIS graphic cards within its warranty period; replacement or refund of purchased product does not included in the warranty.

On the other hand, HIS is not responsible for any loss, damage or shipping charges incurred to our RMA Center. Additionally, HIS reserves the right to inspect and verify the defects of the product(s) that are returned.
