Not getting the graphic performance I should

I picked up three identical systems for a business I work for, core2duo cpu, Q35 express chipset, 2gb ram, Windows 7. They each came with Windows 7 preinstalled along with hardware drivers preinstalled, no additional bloatware.

In a pinch I needed to make use of one of the hard drives to help in making a backup of a drive while repairing a completely separate computer. Afterwards I return the drive to the computer, wipe it clean, and use the Windows 7 reinstall disk, so I have a clean install of Windows 7, I load hardware drivers, graphics driver is the latest version directly from intel's website.

This computer I reinstalled Windows on Windows Aero stutters all the time, while the two other computers that had everything preinstalled are silky smooth with the Windows Aero interface...

Any experience where to check? I've tried my best to match the computer which I reinstalled Windows to the ones with the OS and drivers pre-installed, but something significant has to be different in the setups or configurations somewhere and I haven't found it...

Which OEM "system" are you referring to? Sharing common Q35 express chipsets and graphics drivers would suggest something else amiss.

You probably missed a driver. A missing/generic driver for the mobo chipset would match the symptoms you describe.

all 3 desktops are HP dc7800

I'll run through the list again, maybe I did miss one. There wasn't anything showing as uninstalled in device manager.

I would suspect chipset driver as well.

Check bios settings. If possible take pictures of every page on the "known good" system and then compare carefully with the system that doesnt work right. Also check if they have the same revision.

I recently bought 6 core 2 duo machines and one of them has an extremely slow network connection. (It gets like 5 KB/s) Other than that it works just fine. I noticed some settings in the bios are different but they didnt seem to be relevant to networking. Since I didnt need good network performance for my application, I just let it go...

I went back to the business the following day, and the computer started up in the morning running about equal to the speed of the others. The business has a year warranty from me on them, they'll complain if it slows down in the future.

When I reinstalled the chipset drivers, in the window where it lists off everything it's installing, the only two items listed were about the usb controllers, then the installation completed and the computer restarted.

That's not right. At a very minimum open the side case and check for any bulging capacitors.

I recently worked on a computer where everything was working except for the ethernet port, the previous tech at the company fixed it by disabling the onboard nic and adding a usb>ethernet adapter. The motherboard had one bulging capacitor on it.
