Not getting low frequency/subwoofer sounds in certain games/internet

I have a Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L and it has the Realtek ALC888 onboard sound. I have 5.1 speakers and have the audio mixer set to 6 channel sound. On certain games like Left4Dead, no low frequencies will go to the subwoofer, it will go to the regular speakers. The same happens with sounds on the internet like youtube and other videos. Playing music on itunes comes out fine and some other games it comes out fine and low frequencies will go to the sub. Latest drivers installed. Anyone else ever had this problem???

Do you have "full range speakers" checked in Realtek control panel and do you have the latest Realtek HD Audio drivers installed from Realtek website, instead of Gigabyte website?

I don't see any full range speakers option in the control panel.
