Not dectecting video card

Uhg, another problem ;_;... when i boot up my video card is not dected. the monitor reads

CHECK
SIGNAL

what do i do to fix it?
 
I get that Please Check Signal sign or something similar to it whenever i change my monitor resolution to something not supported by my video card. Dunno if that's gonna help...
 
I have tried to use a Geforce 2 mx also along with my GeForce fx 5200 Ultra (PCI). however, it did work at one point. when i configured my BIOS settings the video card stopped working on the pc(it works on others along with the geforce 2) . However, i havent had the abilty to test it with an agp card yet.
