Not buying BF4, it sickens me

I finally had a chance to try out BF4 just today. I don't know how anyone can play this game for more than 1 hour without hurling. I messed with all the settings for graphics that may have an effect on this. I was getting a good 85 FPS on this PC.

Vsync, fov, lower settings, higher settings... Nothing fixed it for me. I think it's the combination of headbobbing, weird shiny textures, awkwardly smoothed out mouse movements, unnecessary glare everywhere, and the fact that everything seems to blend together that all wraps it up nicely for me as a vomit inducer.

I think I may be done with FPSs for a while.

The head bobbing is the thing I hate the most about Battlefield. It's unrealistic. In real life your eyes compensate for head movements, extremely well.

hmm...I get motion sickness easy, and I dont have it with BF4. I'm running it at 120fps or higher as much possible.

Little late for the boycott party IMO. I avoided purchasing it due to the direction DICE has headed with the brand. It's hard for anyone not to see the CODification of the battlefield franchise. From what I've seen, commanders in BF4 aren't at all similar to commanders in BF2.

I'm an fps player and I didn't buy either of the two games. Neither are about skill, competition or balance just shiny shit blowing up everywhere.

Meh, I'm not buying BF4 because I know I'll have to buy $100 worth of extra expansions to get the full experience.

Never had any issue with vanilla BF3, though.

Sorry it makes you wanna hurl OP. The only game that ever did that to me was Half Life 2, but a FOV adjustment helped.

I bought it and I love it, so pfffft to the haters. 😛

Seems that there is a growing crowd feeling this way. When I initially said this about BF3 the community was basically unreceptive with a "Shut up i love you, game rulez!"

The line between COD and BF(number here) has been blurred....meh on both games.

BF games have a sort of "flea circus" feel to them. Like all the enemies and friendlies speed and twitch about, and feel small. You can never get a good look at them or what is going on, because they are moving so fast and there are so many of them dying and respawning.

The video's of BF4 seem to continue this trend, so I will not be purchasing. Bf3 was very enjoyable, but I really miss the simplicity and straightforwardness of BF1942.

I think BF 2 started this trend and it has only gotten worse with each new iteration.

I have a friend who gets crazy ill even in cars because of motion sickness lol, I'm so glad I don't have the same problem. Though Mirror's Edge did seem 'uncomfortable' to my eyes I recall.

They feel lot like old quake death matches. People can't wait more than 2 seconds to get into the action, so you're spawned on top of people and it becomes this whole run and gun twitch fest instead of really having to think about squad placement and approach like the older BF games.

You sure about that? I just took a look at the Battlefield 3 origin page. 5 $15 expansions + $30 for premium = $100 exactly. Is there any reason to think BF4 will be any different as time goes on?

Premium gives you the expansions, so you dont buy Premium and expansions. But BF4 + Premium is over $100.

Not if you do it right. I think I paid $83...

Well there are always sales here and there. I paid $100 for both, but that was mainly because I had a $60 Amazon credit so I went the Amazon route. GMG had those codes, but at MSRP its $110 for both the game and premium. Kinda expensive even at $83, considering the quality of the product they released. And we dont even get the first DLC right away, we have to wait for the Xbox exclusive to run out.

63 hours of multi-player time in so far and no sickness. There are things I hate about the game, but since I both suck and not competitive, it really doesn't matter.
