Yesterday, I just got my laptop and it didnt come preisntalled with a OS. At the time I didn't think it was any problem. When I tried installing Win98/se, it would get past the copying files and then rebooted. When it got back into the installer it gave me some file crashing errors(rundll32 for example). When I tried XP I kept getting Files not being able to copy. I also took my HD out of my laptop and put it into my bros to copy the win98 files from him cdrom to my hd. When I put it back, I got the same type of errors. I have the latest bios(A16) and I ran the Fujitsu Diag. Test(both the fast and extended tests) and it pasts both. Does anyone know something that may help me?

Thanks!

i swear dell does something with their computers.

i had 2 different dell desktops do the same thing. i tried to install windows XP on them and it would copy fine. reboot and them BAM.. not able to find the file.s

did the same thing too..tried to copy the files to the computer and then install it from there.. still the same thing.

and come to think of it.. i had another dell laptop that did the same thing with winxp.

so on them i said forget it. im going to make them suffer... and installed winME back on there (my parents comp and my girlfrineds parents computers)
