Not able to send mail with Thunderbird

My ISP

How can I send email with Thunderbird, everytime I hit send it times out.

smtp.ispwest.com
pop3.ispwest.com

can you make it work with outlook express or outlook?

try uncheking the secure log in sessions....

Did you setup the SMTP server? With TB, you have to setup both the SMTP and POP3 servers separately. And in your email Account > Server Settings, you have to link it to the right SMTP server using the Advanced button. (In case you use several accounts, like I do)

Did you setup the username to be username@ispwest.com?

How do you know their mail system isnt experiencing an outage? Did you try it with another email client? How long has this been going on? Did you call them?

I don't, I emailed them, I did not

I pinged the server dunno if that means anything. I can receive email just not send it.

Their smtp server is currently up and operating (a little telnet to port 25 was the test).
