It's an honest question. I highly recommend you install a modern browser like Google Chrome, with a built-in pop-up blocker: https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/

Then visit the Chrome Store, where you can download Ad-Block to protect your eyes from all that spam: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/home

It was 2 in-page popups that are built into the browser page. and I don't visit these crap spam sites that write nothing but shit.

Unlike you, I enjoy supporting the sites I visit. I don't install an ad-blocker because I am not a dickhead freeloader. More power to you though.

An Adoption rate comparison is idiotic and irrelevant. One of the OS's has a few high-end devices in a controlled environment, and the other has hundreds of different devices that range from complete (low-end) crap to high end.

I'm trying to find adoption rate on their features page, but I can't seem to find it. Can you help me locate it?

best I could find on sources:

Seems to jive.

But iOS5/6, which has an adoption rate of over 75%, is being compared to a flavor of Android that is being used by only 7% of Android users.

That just seems odd.

A prospective shopper, who walks into a store to buy a phone this summer, will see smartphones with iOS 5/6 and ICS. What's odd about comparing features of the two best mobile operating systems?

Honest question: Are all new Android phones sold with ICS now?

Doesn't this statement of yours really put an end to this whole thread? I mean if that's your view, really, what could be said to counter it? You start this thread claiming it's not a troll/flame attempt, challenging Android users to say what the Android OS has over iPhone now that iOS6 is introduced. People give you answers and you say you don't care about them and it won't make you switch. When more responses come in, you go off on a tangent and say Let's not compare iOS6 to ICS since not many people have ICS. Let's instead compare the latest Apple mobile operating system to an older version of Android such as Froyo or Gingerbread.

I am trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here but this is really just ridiculous. It's like me starting a thread asking you to convince me why Los Angeles is better than Coppenhagen. Your first response would probably be you never said LA was better and even if you did think so, you don't really care to convince me. I think everyone here feels the same. We humored you by giving you reasons why we choose Android over iPhone but you already made up your mind.

Android fans - Now what is missing?
A good maps application with navigation, for starters. iOS 6 maps is only slightly better than iOS 5 maps, and both are way behind Google Maps w/ Navigation on Android. Apple is trying to buy their way out of it, but unfortunately they are using Tom Tom which blows.

There are so many ways to change the target it is ridiculous. This conversation will never get anywhere.

First people compare stock iOS to stock android. Then we bring in rooted android phones and jailbroken iOS phones. Then we talk about how not having ICS doesn't matter but not having iOS 6 features does. Then we talk about how not supporting devices 1-2 years old is a *good* thing. Then you compare a brand new android phone to a 2 year old iOS device. The target moves so often there is never a side by side comparison.

Have you used iOS 6 maps or are you just talking out of your ass?

Apple does have a long way to go in the maps game, but so did android when it first came out and look where they are now.

If you go back in the thread, I tried to keep this on track, but was rebuffed. So, I went with the flow of those who wanted to talk about the hardware that was being left behind. It turns out, many more Android devices have been left behind by ICS than iOS 5 or 6 have or will.

I am more than happy to get back to talking about things that are allegedly missing from iOS6 if people want to stay on topic.

And again, I just want to know what people think is missing. Do I really have to care about those things? I never asked to be convinced to switch. I just want to know what the arguments are now.

There are features list and demos of iOS 6 maps.
Your hostility is a little worrisome.

iOS6 announcement was a disappointment for me. However, why fix something that isn't broken.

WM7 is fantastic. Apps aside (I personally don't like "apps" in the first place), Microsoft is getting something right. The interface is useful and fresh. The OS is smooth as butter. Smoother than iOS5. My girlfriend sold her iPhone4S for a Lumia 710 and is now very happy.

Android is well... they have fantastic and under-rated products for the tech geeks like us, but sometimes I wish the Android world isn't so "messy". Let's face it, the OneX and SGS3 are WAY better than the iPhone4S at the moment.

I am using it right now and I doubt he has even seen it in use before. I think my question is valid and I think the way I responded is quite valid considering the condescending tone jpeyton has had in this thread.
