This is a low power cpu and hard to find for sale.

http://www.amazon.com/Core-i5-4670T-.../dp/B00DI6AS50

http://www.rakuten.com/prod/intel-c...r-socket-h3-lga-1150-quad-core/250538571.html

I am still running my i7 3770t 24/7/365 in a mining rig

and my i5 2500t in a second mining rig.

I am looking at my parts bin and I have a nice gigabyte mobo that needed a 4th gen cpu. I want a quad with an 's' or a 't' Finding 't' cpus is not easy.

The newer asic's I use like good cpu's with some ability to do work. I had not been able to get this cpu so I posted it here. To call it hot would be due to rarity. NOT price.

To the mods you can move this to hot deals although the price is okay and I posted it here . you call it

That's only 45 watts at 3.3 GHz.
Intel lists it at TRAY: $213.00 I guess that for 1000 lot.

IT HAS ALWAYS been hard to get them.

the 2500t the 3770t and now the 4670t were all hard to find.

Since I have been mining 24/7/365 and with multiple mining programs higher quality cpus work better.

most of my machine run cgminer+ bfgminer+ guiminer at the same time and quad cores do better for that.

Once I do the build with it I will post back.
I am going to setup a 2x hd7970 LTC miner with it.

makes more money. if the pc has a hd7970 it makes about .

6 ltc a month need an older cgminer to run this 1) mining program

if I run bfgminer for ice furies I can over clock them with ease and run 20 sticks at 2.6 gh or 52 gh cgminer does not allow for this oc option

2 mining programs

if I run antminers on the custom cgminer I can run 37 sticks over clocked to 2 gh each or 74 gh.

3 mining programs

so the machine has 6 ltc a month = 152 usd

then .55 btc a month = 450 usd

then .78 btc a month = 650 usd

the pc pulls about 450 watts so add a router say 500 watts that is 12 k watts a day 360 a month at 20 cents a k watt = 72 bucks.

so 152+ 450+ 650 = 1352 usd - 72 a profit of more then 1200 usd a month.

these machine and the gear is all paid for .

If you do this with a weaker cpu you lose a lot of hash power. so when I find a t quad core at a decent price I usually build a new system with my profits. with all the programs running i push the cpu a bit and it always runs so the savings add up also the lower watts help cooling a bit.

I am making about 2k a month on mining. once I expand profits will go up a bit more.

IIRC wasent it established that the 't' varients use the exact same amount of power as a regular chip at the same clock speed?

My 4570 can be a 4570t with just a few changes in the BIOS. Plus they will use the exact same power at idle regardless.

Yeah this is the article I was thinking of:
http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1202-page7.html

Its 2400s and 2400 but its still valid

well my 2500t uses less then my 2500k did

my 3770t uses less then my 3770k did.

I have an s version of this I will compare the 2.

It could be that I got very good 2500t and very good 3770t both my k version were okay at oc nothing 'golden' and both did not under clock as well as the t's

Of course I also have found that a 'crash' sometimes sets bios back to stock and the t's don't need to be looked at after a crash. these are good for 24/7/365 use with some endless cpu load on them. most people on this site do not need these. but a few people do mine 24/7/365 with a more complex mining setup on a pc.

correct me if I'm wrong, but while GPU mining the CPU stays under extremely light load, so using this CPU or a Pentium, maybe even a 4770K wouldn't really change much!?

So you are running ASIC miners in addition to some weak GPUs that mine Litecoin?

yes to the asic mining gear.

but no to weak gpu a hd7970 would not be called weak.

the machine with the 2500t is a dedicated machine in my garage. the machine with my 3770t is in my den and serves as a miner and surfing the net. it also has a hd7970.
