Not a good morning in my household

We just got a phonecall letting us know that my grandmother and grandfather were in separate ambulances on their way to the emergency room. My grandfather fell and hit his head and my grandmother either had a stroke or heart attack.
 
Sorry dude, my misery seem quite small now. My jobless, useless 19 year old son is sleeping on my couch his mom kicked him out. Same thing happened last year so he has ruined for all of us two Christmas in a row.
 
Sorry to hear that minendo, many times people in poor health or the elderly get worse during the holidays, because of all the activity & stress.

Why would you (rightly so) say your problems seem small, then go on to explain your useless story to us that sounds more like you're a deadbeat dad than a useless son?

I agree. That is not very high on the things I'd consider miserable. Be glad your son is healthy. If all he needs is motivation, and you aren't giving it to him, whose at fault?

Sounds like the stress of your grandfather's accident triggered your grandmother's problems. Sad...but actually quite common.
I'll definitely join in with best wishes for a speedy recovery for both.

My neighbor's wife's mom had a severe stroke yesterday. It appears she's gonna be ok...but with strokes, you never know for sure.


for those ragging on mucho...IMO, it's not necessarily HIS fault that his son is worthless. Sometimes it happens even with great parenting...divorces often cause unintended consequences.
