This seems pretty hot since you get Norton Antivirus, Ghost, and some other Norton software.

Symantic link requires top box flap while Outpost rebate requires UPC. Symantic rebate requires Symantic product CD ANDtitle page from manual or download receipt.

OR print out of "About" page for an OEM product.

Here is the Outpost link. The Outpost link is on this page.

Systemworks Premiere 2005

The Symantic rebate is supposed to come in the box, but if you are like me and don't trust it, here's the link to that rebate, it's on this page:

Not to put down this deal, but just a heads up that if Norton Ghost 9.0 is anything like Drive Image 7 (which I suspect it is), it can only be installed on *one* computer, and this is strictly enforced. (The software requires registering with Norton's website.) There's no longer a DOS floppy you can use to backup drives, only a floppy to *restore* drives or partitions. The fact that DI7 can backup directly from Windows without booting into DOS means a DOS version is no longer necessary.

So if you're looking for something cheap to backup a whole bunch of machines, this might not be what you're looking for.

Can anyone confirm that Norton Ghost 9.0 can only be installed (or used) on one computer. If so, I will buy it again based on this post. Thank you.

I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't include Partition Magic as well... now that's part of the Symantec army. I'm also curious as to what kind of a performace hit I'm taking by installing this new versions. The last couple years of Systemworks revisions have been CPU hogs.

Cheers

With regards to Ghost only, this is not a threadcrap, but just a question:

Why bother?

Norton ghost 2003 (v7? or v8? not sure) can backup and restore NTFS/FAT32/FAT partitions from a floppy. Heck, I don't even install it in windows!

So, until a new filesystem comes out that isn't supported..what reasons exist for upgrading to a new version of ghost?

I concur. Not much good here as it relates to Ghost, although the update to AV would be nice.

Does anyone else have problems with Symantec rebates? Seems like every other Symantec rebate I file gets initially rejected and magically paid when I bug them about it . . .

I just thought the deal was pretty hot for people who like Norton Antivirus. For $20 you get Antivirus plus the other stuff. But I don't want to "sell" the product.

Hulk, I agree - for those that want an updated package $20 is pretty good. My apologies for the question regarding ghost..not trying to rain on your post. We appreciate *all* people why honestly try to post what they think are deals... :)

Symantec's rebates suck. They always give excuses as to why they won't honor them, sometimes I think they just have a set list that they rundown picking "reasons". I have problems with them every year...Then again I seem to almost have problems with every rebate company under the sun, but at least I scan everything before sending it.

Confirmed. Norton Ghost 9.0 can only be registered with one computer. The other installs are only 30 day trials.
