Norton Sys Info says my D650@800

I just installed an unlocked Duron 650 OCed at the moment to 800 @ 1.70v is comparible to a PII-450!

What the heck is that all about?

well, it would help if you posted exactly what those results are ...

I have the same setup and under simple cPu benchmarks from sisoft sandra I get stuff like this...

CPU Drystone : 2283
CPU Whetstone : 1082

check that with a P2450, Im sure it wont be that...

I d/l Sandra and get good results. I guess Norton's is just the lamest thing ever. I kind of suspected that, but I was still shocked beyond words when it said my Duron was slightly less than a friggin' P-II 450.

All is well.

It seems like the Norton index is valid if you are comparing Pentiums vs. Pentium, but gets real out of whack whenever you run AMD etc. and compare against an Intel chip ...

yeah, I just ran it for kicks and it says that my system is around the performance level of a P2 450. Also, my hard drive is pitiful (IBM GXP 20G 7200rpm) This is one of the nicest drives I have ever owned...
