Yeah much faster (I watched it defrag my 6 gig drive once), plus its more customizable; you can place certain folders at the &quot;start&quot; of the drive etc...

Norton SD is definitely nice to have. You can optimize everything, even the placement of the swap file.

Here's an example. I recently defragmented my 27Gig which was 47% fragmented. I swear to you, it would take half a day with the Windows 98 Defragment program. It took 27 minutes with SpeedDisk

FYI, the Diskeeper for Windows 2000 SCREWS UP DATA. Read the comments at download.com. I'm not sure for the Windows 98 version.

OK, that being said, why is it the #1 seller and has the highest user rating according to PC Mag.? I know of several local companies of at least 400 - 600 units that use nothing but DK 5.0 or 6.0 with no probs.! I have personally used it exclusively for nearly 3 years, I rarely have to do any &quot;reinstalls&quot; or get any corruption!

I've never had a problem with diskkeeper on NT or win2K and we use it company wide here at work. As far as win9x goes, norton is still my favorite.
