Norton Ghost question

I was thinking about getting Norton Ghost to use with my three networked computers as a way to do backs. Large drives are less expensive than a backup system so stick it one of the computers and backup them up. Now when Ghost does an image/backup of a drive is it creating an image file or making a exact copy of the drive and structure? If it is an image file is it compressed? If it is just creating an image file that will work just fine but if they are not this won't work well.

yeah, it compresses if you want it to. if you were around 1 or 2 weeks ago, i asked a whole buncha questions on ghost, so search for either "ghost" or "thurznite"
