Norton Ghost making recovery disks...

I know how to create a back up but how would i go about making a set of recovery disksthat would one could just pop in .. during boot and restore the computer to previous back up state.

I'd like to know also. I can't restore the "C" drive without booting from a recovery disk, and using another boot disk like Bart PE, etc., doesn't give me access to Ghost. This is with Systemworks Premier 2005 (And it doesn't have anywhere in Systemworks to make the recovery disks either).

If I understand your post, take a look at Terabyte 'Image for Windows'.

I backup my OS partition to DVD weekly. Briefly:
- 4Gb backs up in 12 minutes + 3 minutes for byte-for-byte image verification (at 8X).
- The DVD created is self-bootable.
- If you wish, you can also use Terabyte 'Image for DOS' program to restore.

'Image for Windows' is $28, and includes 'Image for DOS'. Image for DOS, by itself, is only $18 (same capabilities - but slower).

IFW does image_Windows_from_Windows, but you must use the free Phylock utility.

I've restored my OS partition numerous times - perfectly - with this software.

No, I'm talking about making a recovery disk (Or cd) to use with Norton's Ghost. In order to restore the "C:" drive, you have to be able to boot up and run ghost from an exterior source.....

There is an option to copy the Ghost boot OS (Caldera DOS) during backup, it copies the OS to the CD or DVD and you can boot of this backup media, BUT you still have to choose from the ghost menu to re-install your backup. I have done it a lot of times and on different PC's. Hope this helps
