Ok there's two laptops in this scenario. I'll call them laptop A and laptop B.

Before I explain what I'm trying to do, here's something to keep in mind.

Laptop A = New Hard Drive
Laptop B = Has a ghost image of Laptop A's old hard drive

Ok so transferring the ghost image from A to B was easy since I was logged into windows. Now I gotta do it during boot up. I stick my Norton Ghost into Laptop A and it boots up so I can restore my ghost image. When I click "browse" to select my ghost image, I would goto My Network -> Windows Client Network -> Workgroup -> Laptop B

On laptop B, I'm sharing the folder that contains the ghost image. But when I click on Laptop B in the Network Client menu (on Laptop A), it says I don't have access to it and the folder doesn't appear. I can't enter no user name or login information to access laptop B.

So pretty much I want to disable the security permissions so anyone can view the files on Laptop B.

Also, I've disabled simple file sharing, tried enable guess accounts with full shares. It would work IN windows XP but not when I bootedup with the norton ghost disk.

ALso, here's the error I get when I'm trying to browse through the network to get to the image file on laptop B.

"\\Laptop B is not accessible. You might not have permissions to use this network resource."

make sure that you have sharing enabled and that you have clicked the field that says "allow other users to modify files"

I have 3 computers using norton ghost 9. I have one computer that is the server that the I have ghost from the other 2 computers back up to the server via a shared folder. I went through your same problem not too long ago.

"allow other users to modify files"

Where is that? I don't see it in Properties -> security

Also did you disable simple file sharing?

And as for sharing enabled, I right clicked on a folder. Enabled sharing and the hand appeared on the folder icon. Which normally means I'm sharing it.
