Hello folks,
I have both Norton Firwewall and a Netgear Router, model WGR614. I know I need both a softwall and hardware firewall but I would like to remove any duplicated services that Norton is performing. After reading several posts, all I need the Norton firewall for is to protect me from threats that originate on my network and contact a distant server, ie Trojan Horses.
How can I stop Norton Firewall from monitoring inbound packets?
What other functions should I stop on the Norton Firewall?
My thought is to speed up Internet browsing and reduce the amount of configuring that I have to do with Norton. I just set up DC++ and I set up Port Forwarding and it worked at first but now servers are refusing my conncetion. Also, the Norton firewall gives me a warning when I start DC++. I have added DC++ to the program list in Norton.
Thanks, Bill
