norton antivirus not scanning system

my norton doesnt want to scan my system. it thinks about it and dies.... think I may have a virus but can't get rid of it since I cant scan my system... any thoughts?

download and run macafee stinger
Text It will tell you if you have a virus which is capable of disabling your antivirus.
Then buy a real copy, stop using warez antivirus.

I work for a large company, we use it. Other than having to delete a bunch of hidden Symantec folders when you need to reinstall it (otherwise you reinstall it and you usually still have the same problem you uninstalled it for) it works ok I guess.
