Outpost.com has the Norton Antivirus 2006 home protection 3 user pack for $9.99 After rebate (its a $50 rebate):
http://www.outpost.com/entry?site=op:mfe021706&sku=4585467
Rebate link (rebate is from symantec, and its not an upgrade rebate):

(the outpost rebate has a typo in it, uppercase PDF, my link works thiers doesn't 🙂 )
As well the outpost site says its from 2/17 to 2/21. Thats incorrect, the rebate is good from 2/15 through 2/23.

This is good if you have several computers that need anti virus, you can buy this pack and put it on up to 3 computers.
I bought this a few months ago for $20 AR and I got my $50 rebate earlier this month. Symantec is fairly good about rebates.

I posted a couple posts below about some information about norton. Many people dont like norton there are plenty of alternatives. I've listed a few a couple posts below. This deal is for those who want norton or who are buying for someone who wants norton.

Bumped for new sale, the last one for this product was 3 months ago and instead of a new thread, I thought I'd just edit the old one with the new details and links.

And a little AT exclusive, the outpost.com rebate link doesn't work, but my fixed one does 🙂

Not to threadcrap, because it's a good deal comapred to normal, but Nortan AntiVirus is worse than most viruses...

Yeah I agree, I dont use norton antivirus on any of my personal computers. Its pretty bloated. But some people do. It has brand recognization. My father uses it on his computer. For those who want this specifically its a good deal. If you dont, well there are alternatives.

For instance, symantec antivirus corporate is GREAT! I dont know how much it would be for a single user, but if you can get ahold of it, thats definately the way to go.

Its the business edition with NONE of the bloat.
Its very cool to use. You can use it as standalone for a single computer, or multiple computers on a network all getting updates and being controlled from a single server.

Newegg has a 5 user pack of the symantec corporate for $200. Unfortunately thats about $40 per user. If you can find that many people who need it thats not an unreasonable price (in line with other solutions like kaspersky), but its definatey a far cry from $10 AR.

There's also some free solutions like Avast! and some others. BUT, most of the comparison reviews I've seen show that the free solutions often dont detect as many viruses. Usually norton is at the top in detection, followed closely or tied by kaspersky.

Bloated/resource hogging (memory/cpu) solutions: (if you dont need the resources for games or whatever, norton is usually fine)
Norton Antivirus (also part of systemworks)
Note that norton can screw up a lot of things when its improperly configured, or if one of the norton firewalls starts blocking a lot of normal stuff. Also, sometimes if you delete or uninstall parts of it with other things, it can majorly screw up a system. In other words, normally you probably should use something other than norton for your personal machine if you care about performance.
Mcafee

Unbloated solutions:
Symantec Antivirus Corporate (latest version I think is 10.0)
Kaspersky

Free solutions:
Avast!
AVG
antivir

(I know I'm leaving some out, feel free to mention others and I'll try to edit the list). Also there's some that are free for an online virusscan through www.

I use Antivir on my PC, but Norton on my kids PC. It works great, auto protect, scans and updates all work without issue, and it's excellent at stopping crap.

This is a great deal for someone that justs want good protection for their PC with minimal user action.

All I ever read on here is that Norton is a resource hog. Ok. But it works, and sometimes that is what matters most.

I use Avast, norton has caused me much more trouble than any virus on a few older PCs. When Norton works, its all dandy, when it gets messed up, seems like format and reinstall is the only hope.

Do not use norton. I work as a tech at a computer shop and I'm constantly fixing norton related issues. Just today I had 3 computers that norton broke.

Well I did mention it was bloated 🙂 I've had norton screw some stuff up before too. Anyway I listed some alternatives (including some free ones).
