well I just got it in the mail today.
slow
but seems to be in order, even though it was just in an ordinary envelope with the instructions and reciept as the only packing.

Now I just have to get an Athlon:)

Two weeks isn't too bad hehe but kinda sucks you don't have an Athlon to try it out on.. should have waited to see what kind of CPU you were going to buy first since the Slot A's are almost out the door.. oh well try and get them cheap :)

I got myself a rev. 3.0 about a month ago. Works great, the dip switches are pretty easy to manipulate. Took my 650 up to 850 @ 1.85V, Golden Orb, extra case fan, and 2CoolPC Plus.

What is 2CoolPC Plus? I got an Athlon 650 also but the sucker won't make it past 800 with a case fan overtop the heatsink and processor. I got PS Fan, Front Case fan and one smaller exahust fan behind the processor, Golden orb on the processor, and Case fan on top of the processor and it runs kinda warm 95-100 degree F at 800 and 1.85volts.

2CoolPC Plus is just this cheesy looking contraption, basically a big ass fan that sits in a plastic casing. It blows air through a vent at the end, directed at the CPU and video card, also hits the PCI slots. Pushes quite a bit of air, actually. Try www.2coolpc.com for a picture. Made by South Bay Engineering, got some pretty good reviews at overclockers.com, toms hardware also.

I ordered and recieved two of them. Watch your reciept very carfully because I think it somehow had a glitch and said I ordered two for the price of one. I didn't see it because the price was the same as the one so I didnt bother to check to see what the quantity was. Once it arrived there was two in the package and they charged me for both. Oh well ended up selling to my friend for $20 but be careful to check your receipt.

Performs Great! Small and easy to use. The hard part was ripping apart my Athlon but once that was done it fit nicley without being too intrusive to its surrounding.

I got mine the other day but can't get it to work. I get a black screen and the sys locks up. Have to kill the power and restart into safe mode to get it working again. It won't even work at my default speed. Northwind support has not yet responded.

What Speed Processor do you have Donut? Also if you take the GFD off the Processor does it boot up? Make sure the voltage is not too high.. I found if I went above 1.85 my motherboard or processor does not like it and does not boot up (black screen) lowest voltage you can do with the Northwind GFD v3 on the processor I found is 1.75 not default (1.65)

check to see if you have it on right also.. I made the mistake of putting it on backwards once. Should point twords the heatsink and fan.

Santa! I have a 600 athlon on a Fic SD11 m-board. I'm running it at the lowest setting. 1.75 and all I get is black screen. I take it off and it reboots ok. At a couple different sites guys have said my 250v power supply might be the cause. I'd think it should be able to do 600 without any problem. It seems to be getting a good seat. And I have it facing the right direction towards the fans. Any thoughts?

The PowerSupply Theory is an interesting one and perhaps the cause. You are squeezing more juice out of your Power supply by bumping the voltage up to 1.75 from 1.65. 300 watt Powersupplys are what generally Athlons (especially overclocked ones) require. Athlons are power hungry.

My power supply seemed to be the problem! A 300w unit replaced a 250w unit and the GFD is now working. I'm running a 600 @700 with 1.75v I tried 750 with 1.85v and 1.95v but it was unstable. I was afraid to try 2.05v. Anyone running at that voltage without problems?

Yes,
I used to run my slot a 700 at the maximum voltage of the northwind gfd, I had the alpha heatsink with sanyo denki fans so that helped to cool it alot.
