Other than the Washington Post - can you folks please give me the names of local newspapers/classified ads where I might begin looking for jobs in these areas? Basically, I'm sick of sitting around the last two years dropping resumes cold on places that never get back to me all over the country. So I figure it's time to look more specifically at what I want.

If you have a link to a local classified listing for me, it would be appreciated. Also, if anyone in these areas know of companies (whether hiring or not) they can provide me with links to, that would also be appreciated.

If you're willing to peruse local hardcopy listings on a whim, here's what I'm looking for:

Junior to Mid-level Software Engineer/Programmer/Software Architect/Developer
1-10 years of C/C++, Object Oriented Design/Programming (OOD/OOP)
Windows Programming Environment, Experience with MFC, ATL, ActiveX and/or COM
Other Experience includes PHP, HTML, SQL, Perl

That's just a general what I'm looking for here. Basically I want to be dropping resumes on companies in the areas I'd like to finish my life out and hopefully generate something from it. Again, I'm not asking folks to find me a job - I'm just looking for a starting point down there other than the large defense contractors that file my resume away in a database never to be seen again.

Thanks in advance.

Sign up as a normal volunteer for scientific studies
Sign up for studies at the NIH until you get your job.
Functional MRI scans pay about 80-90 bux/hour
Non-functional MRI's pay about 60bux/hour
Ebola and/or HIV vaccine each pay about 800-900 dollars :)
Seriously, check it out.
MRI's can net you easy money as long as you dont have any metal embedded in your body somewhere and your urine drug screen shows up negative.

Anybody that knows of any companies that are "usually" looking for software QA or engineers in these areas, please let me know.

Can't you view jobs by area at places like Monster.com? There's got to be a lot of companies in the MD/DC/VA looking for developers but they may be low-balling people because so many people are out of work.
