Northerners, aka real Yankees (me, too), complaining about winter storms in Winter. Grow a pair already. Let them freeze and then thaw accordingly come spring.

Seems it's the south that keeps getting all the snow now days. We used to get lot of snow way back in the day, now we have maybe 2 feet on the ground if that? Got a couple small storms but nothing too serious.

The cold never bothered me anyway. :p
we are getting 3" - 4" of snow today. Overall, we must have received over 6 feet of snow this year. I will have to wait before final totals are available.

That seems to be a new trend, makes me laugh too. Or a few years ago when they decided to call "winter" a "polar vortex". It happens every year! They kept talking about it like it was unusual. Yeah, it's cold in winter. News at 6:00. :p

it's rather more complex and it can bring extremely cold arctic air as far south as the southern US. It's pretty fascinating reading.

That is the same storm that hit Minnesota yesterday. We don't bother to name them and I don't know why the need a name anyway.
They're a whole lot of nothing when they're in the flyover states. When they hit the coasties, then it becomes big news.

So far, we've gotten about an inch of snow that isn't sticking to the roads.

I really wish that they would stop canceling school on account that a blizzard "might" be coming.

Funny watching the New Yorker's whine about snow on the weather channel.

New Yorkers deal with snowstorms just fine, I've been living here my whole life. We just don't have to like them. What's funny is that it doesn't take much to amuse you.

About 6 inches on ground here. Latest NWS statement says 15-20 in total for our area by tomorrow morning.

You all are going to need either or both of these items (which I have here in Apex, NC, brought them from Wayne, NJ): Note: It is very hard to find rugged shovels anymore. This one is steel & braced with a real wood handle

Actually a polar vortex is an upper level low pressure area that just so happens to occur a lot in the winter.

"They" are not using the term interchangeably with "winter".

Just looked at some NJ Traffic Cameras (511nj.org .. just change it to your state or use 511.org) that site has most states cameras .. NJ roads looked good with traffic moving nicely. But we can not see how bad the side roads may be. I know one person in or near Wayne, NJ who lost about 4 large tree limbs during the storm. He will be calling a company to help cut them up and remove them.

Don't think it's the same system but we got a couple inches here too and it's still coming down. Was a bit slippery on my way to work. It's really big snow flakes though so it's really fluffy and packs easily. This is good, since our roads were starting to get pretty rough. It just needs to cool down more, still kind of warm out.
