Northbridge Fan of NF7-S V2.0

My northbridge fan has stopped working on my ABIT NF7-S V2.0. Is there anyway to tell if it's completely dead or not? Is it something I should try and RMA? It's not that old at all. Thanks! I REALLY REALLY appreciate the help!!

That fan is notorious for dying an early death. Mine was bad from the moment I first powered it up. I wound up replacing it with a Zalman NB-47J and I was very happy. That Zalman heatsink is passive so it is silent and it cooled my highly overclocked system nicely. I say go for that rather than RMA the board.

anyway to confirm that it's completely dead? Where can I get that heatsink? Thanks!

ALSO IMPORTANT: Will that Zalman HS fit on the northbridge if I have a Thermalright SLK-947U heastink on there? Thanks!!

Well, if the fan is not turning you can try to revive it by lubing it with some 3-in-1 oil. But that's only a temp. fix. I do recommend the Zalman cooler, I bought mine at NewEgg but it's not for sale there any more. You can get it at SVC, though. Here's a link:

That's an excellent price, too. When I bought mine from NewEgg it was over twice that.
