it appears one was solid fuel and the other was liquid fuel, there can be no question that they are advancing at a quicker pace than ever before.

Trump is well aware that his attack in Syria was quite popular and what better way to distract everyone from Russiagate than do the same to NK.

They have tested all of the components, notably in the view of their enemies, but they have yet to show the world a test of the the full enchilada ( a nuclear capable ICBM with r/v). No credible intelligence agency would, in it's own proprietary estimation, consider the DPRK to be incapable of hitting the continental US with a nuclear warhead. Trump must now take this into consideration: The fact that if he inadvertently convinces the DPRK's leadership that they are under threat (by sabotage, assassination, anything) there is a non-insignificant probability they could plant a fat one on the white house or Mar-a-Largo and end his presidential pity party in absolutely spectacular fashion.

They are far far away from being able to hit the east coast with anything...

"In the end, for all of Obama's grand rhetoric on ridding the world of nuclear weapons, history has doomed him to preside over the emergence of two rogue nuclear regimes (North Korea and Iran). "
