North Carolina; give us our friggin' state lottery!!!!!!!!

NFS4

No Lifer
These bastards need to step on it!!! The NC budget is in shreds, funding for universities have been cut by 10 - 15%. Staff has been laid off and classes cancelled at the university level due to the budget cuts. They've raised tuition. The roads are crappy, and what do they do about it?

"No lottery here, it just ain't right!"

FUNK THAT!!!! There are lotteries in Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia. Where the f*&k is NC money going to? That's right, Virginia, Georgia, and SC. DAMNIT, pass a damn bill or something so we can get some friggin' money up in dis biatch!! In SC (or was it Georgia), you can go to college for free if you keep a certain average through.

DAMN YOU NC!! DAMN YOU TO HELL!!

<< LOL! I thought NC was against lotteries. Has that changed? >>

We DON'T have a lottery. We NEED one bad!!!

I feel for ya NFS4, but we just got one in SC and our tuition is still going up from budget cuts. They increased money to secondary education and lowered it to colleges.

Georgia is the state that you get the Hope Scholarship if you have and maintain above a 3.0 GPA.. It provides full tuition to any state school, and 150$ per semester for books. Also it gives 3000$ per semester towards private school tuition.. You automatically get it if you graduated from a georgia high school with above a 3.0 average if you apply for it. And you dont get evaluated every year to make sure your GPA is high enough, you get evaluated every 30 credit hours, which means 3 semesters here at Georgia Tech, nobody ever does more than 14 hrs per semester here.... but its great, and i dont get it cause i didnt go to a georgia high school, so that sucks...

Right on, my brother!

I spent $10 and put 75 miles on my truck heading up to the VA line last night for a piece of that 325 mil.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know about the arguments about spending dollars gambling instead of food and clothing on the kids, hike in crime, promotion of gambling, and #1 cause of dandruff. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

But shouldn't we let adults be adults? Shouldn't we let there be such a thing as free choice? I mean no one puts a gun to someone's head to force them to play. When I lived in Graham, NC last year I had four or five "friendly" bars that had the electronic poker machines in them. And yes, they did award money for points. It was totally illegal but nobody was forced to play them.

It's just plain stupid and backward thinking that rules this state.

Hey, my home is in Burlington 😀 My parents and I drove to Danville, VA last week to get some tickets. We just go for the good drive through the country. My dad has won maybe $8,000 - $10,000 over the years, but he doesn't go very often.
