Norms

I need a good one to "break" for my sociology class... So far most of the ideas are good... keer the ideas coming...

Ive thought of eating pizza for breakfast, standing really close to a person when we are the obly ones in the elevator... but other than that i have no clue....

Haha....I had to do this a couple of weeks ago for my sociology class. I just refused to eat any meals with my family for a week. That worked out well. Heck, I still have my reaction paper for the project....

Why not pretend you have Turrets Syndrome for a day? It'd be interesting because people with this disease "break the norms" as you put it when they speak out, for example.

Violations of personal space are always good.
Elevator for example, you always tend to goto the empty corrner. There's no law that says that you can't go stand next to someone else.
Men, urinal rows. You always tend to goto the one that gives the most space between other users.

But mine are the best, right?

Another good norm to test is to goto costco or some store where you will buy a lot of stuff. Get many baskets instead of a cart.
Or shake the hand of the person thats punching your order up at fast food place.
Something simple such as placing a post-it note on your face is good.
Or running that sign at the restarant that says please be seated, and sit down.
Or sit down at any open seat you see at a crowed fast food dining area.

So yea, I've conduced many of these experiements already, deviance rules.
