yes it is, but the main question is, after load, how quickly does it go back down to the idle temp, if its quick, then you have a great HS/Cooling, if not, then you should consider upgrading cooling.

Hmm...I have my 3000+ oced to 2.4. It goes up to 43C max under load with stock heatsink. 49C is normal though I would think...nothing to be worried about. :)

Actually i wonder if it matters all together to bother about temperatures untill there's instability... since all motherboards report the temperatures wrong and you can't guess the actualt cpu temperature without temp probe to the actual cpu

I think Asus a8n-sli might report it about right. I touched the heatsink when it was at 49C. It felt a bit warm, not hot at all. I at least I know it's not way off.

My temp # does go down rapidly once the cpu throttles back. So, you guys are right. The temps are okay for now..

I was wondering whether cpu temp correlates with vcore only, or it has correlate with fsb as well...

About right for the swing if you are using the stock cooler.....

My aftermarket one which by no means is the best goes from 32c idle to 50c load.....18c swing still.....

cpu temp will rise with each increase in speed but very minute..you will see a bigger jump the moment you start to up the vcore.....however idle temps wont change much....

1.8ghz stock (1.43 vcore) = 30c idle - 44c load
2.665ghz (1.57v) = 32c -50-51c load....
