It's well worth it!
I used to have a 5000 series and hated it, I switched to this and don't think I can ever use another kind again.
On a side note, watch ebay, you can pick up one for $135 or so.

This thing doesn't seem any different than my 7885XL other than the Personal Comfort Control. Anybody know for sure?

Umm, not to thread crap here but.. isn't James Bond a fictional character? Or did they look up a James Bond from the phone book and ask him what his shaver of choice was? :)

Does this thing actually shave as well as a mach 3? I've yet to find anything electric that will even come close to a blade, it just dosen't seem to be possible for some reason.

I get a much better shave than my previous Norelco 38XX. My girlfriend even noticed w/o me telling her I switched.

I use the Mach3 as well; nothing beats it. But I don't always have time to lather up.
