Power's been out for over 3 hours now. Noticed several stretches on the highway while driving home had none of the streetlights on.

The flood waters are receding. We made it through OK. Lost power yesterday afternoon. I'm glad Texas Roadhouse still had it .. at least we were able to get dinner. And Wal-Mart was still going, so we loaded up on cheap candles and rode out the rest of the storm.

Fortunately I'm out of the normal flood zone. The water never came close to my place. Some friends closer to shore had 2 feet of water in their front yard. Nasty stuff. I heard from someone else that they had 58" of water in their garage at high tide yesterday. A guy I work with is still trying to pump out his basement.

I did get to see a submerged car on the way to work this morning. That was kind of fun ... laughing as I drove by in my truck. It was sunk up to the windows.

I would like to thank Hurricane Ida for the lovely weather we have been having here. We've been having days upon days of sunshine and close to record breaking temps.

Over 24 hours no power now. I'd like to thank dominion for being as incompetent as ever.
