At best buy, not exzactly "my find" but I went and got one and at first it gave me some trouble, errors would stop it before it would start burning, ect. So i tried a few things, then i updated the firmware and it has been great ever since.

$70- $20 rebate - $25 rebate = $25

Not one of those "High Quality" sony or tdk, ect, but for $25 I'll take it.

www.norcent.com "Site does not exist" ?

Where to get firmware update?

All CD-RW include "BurnProof" / JustLink / .... coaster prevention buffering technology, these days?
So nobody even bothers to mention it?
Nowadays, a standard feature?

I ordered mine last night for pickup today. I'll let you know who makes it unless someone does it before I do.

http://www.norcent.net/

Seamless Link - Thats what they call their burn proof.

I havent burned a coaster yet.

Weird thing: Nero speed test tells me to burn at 40X casue 48 is to fast, but i've burned at 48, and 52 without any problems.

Also: My bios reprots that the drive is ATA33

I think this drive is made by Acer/Benq.
I got mine today, and it looks identical to the picture on the box. It has the Play/skip button on it.

Norcent has models starting with RW and with RWJ. RWs are Acer/Benqs RWJs are Liteons. You can flash the RWJs to Liteon firmware. Norcent doesn't update their own firmwares much these drives come with Norcent firmware.

I had the same problem with my cendyne. Update your version of nero from their site.
