Well right now "The Wiggles" from .au are TREMENDOUSLY huge.
Of course Disney/ABC bought them up and are now just starting to exploit them to their fullest.
My 2.5yr old cant get enough.

Get Ready To Wiggle

All in all its a decent "silly" show for kids. They dont learn too much like you would on Sesame or Mr. Rogers, but its good and musical for the kids... I hate to admit it, buit I hum their tunes all the time.

The Celebrity Death Triad is complete.

Ray Rayner
Ann Miller
Capt. Kangaroo

Darn, I should have started a pool. I woulda picked the Capt. as being next.

The wiggles are a bunch of homosexual Star Trek Geeks. Ny 2.5 year old watches it too, and i can't stand the show. I'm certain there are clips of them jack-hammering eachother in the doodoo hole.

And kids shows today have no meaning or value anymore. I remember GI Joe had their saftey thing at the end of each episode.
Also, i won't let my kids watch Aurthur anymore. I remember he was just in books when i was growing up, but now he has a tv show on PBS and they're promoting kids to swear aslong as they have a censor to bleep them. It was basically a South Park episode. I like south park, but i don't want my kids watching it till they are at least 13.

Bummer. I watched many an episode of good old Captain Kangaroo growing up.

RIP

Yep, spent many an hour watching the Captain. He had a good show and seemed like a good man.

The kids shows of today just don't seem as good as what he put on.

RIP Captain Kangaroo.

I loved that show while growing up. Meanwhile, my wife and I are expecting our first. I can't seem to think of too many fun educational programs anymore except the venerable Sesame Street.

One other recent death was the actress who did the voice of Caillou. My wife's nephews love watching that show here in Toronto.

The joys of having grown up in a border town (Detroit), I know who these are.

With all these passing I feel like I've lost a chunk of my youth.

Bye bye Captain. They say that as you get older, you remember things from your childhood very clearly - I'll have lots of memories of the Captain, Bunny Rabbit, Mr. Moose, Grandfather Clock and all the rest.

On the news they had clips of the old black-and-white shows, the ones I watched as a child. Gosh, he looked so young. I thought he was old and ancient.

this is so sad

so many famous people dying lately. mr. rogers passed and now...captain kangaroo..rest in peace. loved ya when i was a kid.

RIP Captain Kangaroo 🙁 🙁 🙁
