1. I didn't break my console.
2. Last time we had this discussion I e-mailed Costco customer service and asked them what to do if my 360 broke, and they told me to bring it into the store and I'd get a refund. Feel free to ask them yourself.

I have a crappy 100 dollar small flat screen TV I won in raffle. I bought the hd component cable for the pS3 (and i have no idea why but this crappy tv has a component input 😕 )

It looks great. Way better than DVD.

Quite a few of my Blu-Rays look just like DVDs.. oh wait, that's because they're MPEG2 😛. Still pissed at Sony for that bullshit.

No go for me. I wasn't sure if I would buy it anyway because I'm still on the fence on Blu-Ray and that would be my primary use of the machine other than a couple of exclusives I would like to play (Uncharted, MGS4). I may just wait a few more months until I'm absolutely convinced another competitor isn't going to show up to rival Blu.

Wow, Best Buy sucks more balls than I thought. I asked the guy at my local Best Buy if they are doing the price match with Wal-Mart, and he said his manager won't do it. I asked why, and he said he didn't give a reason. I like the fvcking "price match whenever we want guarantee" they have. Nice.

It's not going to happen.

- All of the studios and every electronics manufacturer except Toshiba have committed to Blu-ray. There is no chance at all that a rival physical format will be given a chance for at least another 4-5 years, probably not then.
- Toshiba is not planning to come out with a new disc format in 6 months. That wild net rumor was based on them creating a new chip for better standard DVD upscaling.
- PS3 sales for May 2008 are 255% of sales last May.
- Some players are under $300 now (Wal-mart has one for $298 before getting $100 GC), and will probably hit $199 for Black Friday.
- Blu-ray disc sales market share vs. standard DVD has climbed from 5% up to 10% this year (Nielsen/Videoscan, see TheDigitalBits.com)

Downloads will still be low-bitrate 720p garbage for the forseeable future, and Comcast HD cable is even worse very-low-bitrate MPEG2.
