Well shit, i had absolutely no idea about this... DAMMMMMMMMMMN. I'm using a 64GB Class 10 sandisk card, guess i have to change it? :(

If it's a Sandisk class 10, it's probably fine.

What the problem is that Sandisk's class 4 cards often perform better than the class 10 cards from other manufactures like Patriot. I have a class 4 Sandisk and a class 10 Patriot and the Sandisk is superior at 4k performance. But the class 10 Sandisk is probably fine (assuming it's a real Sandisk and not a counterfeit).

I still don't know if I need to install CM10/10.1. Seems there are stuff that still doesn't work correctly. I don't really need bluetooth... but stability and battery life is a must.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned that staples is clearing out HD plus accessories. Got a nice, genuine cover and extra power adapter for 10 bux total.

I'm going to try and grab a genuine cover/power adapter at my nearest staples today. Keeping my fingers crossed for one nearest me to have one.

I couldn't get BT to work. I tried a set of Motorola headphones and a Plantronics headset. The Nook saw them both after scanning for devices, but each one came up with the error "Could not communicate with device" after trying to connect. Not a real biggie but the headphones would have been nice to use.

Battery usage was approx. 20% after 18 hours of sleep with wireless on. I've changed the setting to "never" use wireless while asleep to see what difference that will make.

uallas5, any chance you can try a BT keyboard? That's the one BT device I'm hoping will work with 10.1.

I've generally found that so long as wifi is off during sleep the battery drain is minimal.

My BT keyboard works fine, I have this one from Azio http://www.amazon.com/Azio-KB334B-Wi.../dp/B005PCANUA. (Thanks for reminding me, I forgot I had it :$ )

After a tip from leapinlar on the xda forums, I was able to connect my headphones by turning off the wifi 1st. Unfortunately, even tho the play/pause buttons on the headphones work, sound always comes out of the speaker on the back of the tablet.

Yeah, according to the battery usage, wireless was number 1 though that included all the time a had it on, downloading apps, etc.

I did the same as uallas5 after seeing his post on both here and xda. Looks good so far... except for wifi... I don't really use bluetooth. I think I may return the nook though... I'll play around for a couple more days and see.

With wifi off during sleep, I had 1% battery drop after 15hrs of sleep. today verygreen posted an updated ROM, with new wifi drivers, which got 0% battery drop after 9 hours sleep with wifi on. I haven't updated to that ROM yet. I might hold off till more updates are rolled in since CM 10.1.0 RC1 has just been released.

Any chance you have a link to that new ROM? I'm not finding it.

verygreen always updates the 1st post, look at the bottom for the builds and changelog.

The latest is from yesterday, it includes a fix for BT audio as well earlier wifi/battery fix and also includes CM 10.1-RC2. Just loaded it up and now using my BT headphones to listen to music while I post this :)

I'll post some battery usage later on tonight or tomorrow.

Yesterday I tested the hybrid CM10 install with a 32GB class 4 SanDisk card- I saw no noticeable difference in anything directly compared to a 32GB class 10 SanDisk card. I'm guessing this only makes a difference on an SD-only install.

I bit the bullet and upgraded to CM10.1 installed internally (thanks to uallas5 for all the info). All I can say is- everything is now flawless. Even though I didn't mind it, there's now not even a slight rotation delay. Even my magnetic cover now sleeps and wakes the device when open/closed. (With hybrid CM10 it would only wake when opened.)

An absolute must IMO is to flash xboxexpert's Tablet UI mod after gaaps setup. I didn't care much for the weirdly centered on screen buttons and space-wasting top notifications bar, but the Tablet UI fixed this.

I guess any issues with 10.1 have been figured out because install took less than five minutes, no trouble at all.

I did a backup of stock first, but I don't miss it at all. Good riddance, CM10.1 is a far superior experience.

I'd like to do the SD card root to have occasional access to some kindle stuff, what's the best version to use for that?

Not exactly sure what the question is...

The best SD card to use? Sandisk class 4.

The best way to root stock? Flash this CWM to an SD card and copy the root tools to that SD. Both found here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2062613

By the way, you can install the Kindle app from Google Play without rooting.

Now since the Nook has Play Store all you need to do is install the Kindle app. You don't need root for that.

I'll have to check when I got home, I know the amazon app store was still blocked on it though.

It blocks all third party apps. You can use ADB to push install the Amazon Appstore to it. Or you can root it and install the mod that removes the third party app block in the stock OS (both in the link I posted earlier).

Rumor is these are going to be $129 for the HD and $149 for the HD+ at Target on June 9. If so, I'm glad I waited since I do not really need it. Cheaper and I can use my red card for more discount.

I just ordered another 32 gb version for $165 from B&N - my local target has several 16 gb versions in the store, sold out of 32's during the last sale at mothers day.

I'm hating myself for spending $180 on the 16GB version. Figures they'd discount it even more. I guess B&N has given up on the Nook tablets.

In one of the sale threads here was some talk about MS wanting to buy the nook service, so they may be letting the hardware die. Although not sure what this means for the physical bookstore if this does occur unless they get some continual residual payments to keep up the profit margin.

Sale is on again for Dad's Day week.

Nook HD for $129 $149 8GB/16GB

Nook HD+ for $149 $179 16GB/32GB

Just ordered another HD+ (32GB). My third. (Sold the 2nd HD+ to a friend for the sale price). Now I'll probably wait after this sale and sell my original 16GB, or give it to the wife.

I picked up a 32+ this morning for $169. It's just about perfect for comic reading, although I wish the screen was a little bigger.

That said, I still prefer the feel of the TP. The nook's screen is not nearly as smooth, and it's hard to get used to. I'll probably stick with the nook, but only for comics. Maybe I'll change my mind once I put a new ROM on it.
