NOOK HD+ SD cards for Videos and CM

My Nook HD+ 16gb is expected to arrive today.
I was just about to order me a 32GB microSD card as I will mainly be using this to load/watch films and possibly run CM (still debating if it is needed)
I stumbled on a thread which was discussing that certain cards work better than others on the HD+ but the thread was about 6 months old.
I was going to order the SANDISK 32GB ULTRA MICRO SDHC CLASS 10 but are now wondering if I should be considering something else.
Any suggestions welcome

That is good to hear. Thank you very much.

Now to find the most up to date loading instructions...

Dunno if you've already bought, but Samsung microSD > Sandisk

Can you elaborate? Sandisk have very impressive 4K read and write performance. And if you are running CM on the SD that'll be really helpful.

So does Samsung (look for poofyhairguy's posts on this). But SanDisk has had serious and visible QC issues, particularly with the 64gb cards. (And no, it's not just fakes, I got mine straight from Amazon.) You don't see this with Samsung.

Probably doesn't matter at 32gb, though.

I have heard there are a lot of counterfeit Sandisk SD cards out there. So far I've had great success with all my Sandisk cards.

If you want to run CM off the microSD card, you really should read the original thread.
It does matter. Greatly.

From here, you can find the XDA post that shows 4k perf.
http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=34623707&postcount=26

At that time, generally the C10 cards were seriously deficient in their 4k write speeds (which matters only if you're running CM off the card.)
C10 cards may have improved their write speeds since. I don't know.

There's a lot of discussion on xda about corruption in SanDisk cards. No vendor is perfect but they have a pretty big user base and they have seen a lot more problematic SanDisk than Samsung cards.

No problems with SanDisk cards ever for me. 64GB SanDisk mSD in both my Note 3 and Nook HD+.

Unrelated, but I just bought a 128GB SanDisk USB stick for my new plug-in hybrid.

It was a toss up between the Samsung and Scandisk, but I ended up going with the Scandisk for now as all my other cards are Scandisk, although the Samsung ones were coming up a little cheaper.

I intended to run CM from the card but within a few hours of using the stock Nook HD+, the browser had already crashed three times and the performance was a lot slower than I was expecting so I just rooted it and it has been brilliant since.

I have rooted a few other devices in the past but I have to admit this was by far the easiest device I have ever done.

Thanks for all your help.

It's Sandisk... if you ordered a Scandisk then you bought a poorly made copy

HA HA I don't consider my self to be an idiot... but certainly feel like one now!
I have always called them Scandisk and up until you pointed that out I genuinely thought that was the name!
Have just checked and I have ordered a Sandisk..... thankfully!
I was a little worried then.

Reminds me when someone once told me they had an "IKEA" stereo system. I figured out that was the way he pronounced AKAI. :)

Very impressed!
£16 (free P&P), ordered it Monday and it arrived within 24 hours. Appears to be genuine but not put it through any real test yet.
Probably could have held out and got a cheaper one but cant complain so far.
