Keep trying, the terms were listed when you purchased the item. In general, it's not a good idea to use places like 1sale, W00t, etc if timely delivery is required.

Yes, I realized that now =/
I've sent them more than 4 e-mails, one of them being more than 7 days ago and they don't answer them!!

I sent an email about when my order was shipping and they replied fast, albeit with the canned answer despite my mentioning other things. they replied the next day. dunno why you aren't getting a reply.

so with the sd card installed, my nook hd+ doesn't want to power on (unless its plugged in for power). Once i remove the card, it will power on just fine. anyone else noticing this issue at all?

Ordered 9/19/2013 at 5pm EST, just got shipping notice though tracking isn't working yet 10/2/2013 4:58PM EST.

*does the it shipped dance*

Mine had "shipping notice" about 5 days before it was actually shipped and pickup and tracking showed up.

I've seen that before, you'll need to reformat the card and/or use a different card because it tries to boot from card first and will hang if it doesn't like the card sometimes. The SD card reader is flaky on these things.

Back again, this time even cheaper @ $100. The vendor is still 1saleaday. Sorry I'm not allowed to link eBay here. 😛

Sorry for bumping an old thread.

FAT32 is limited to 4GB. ExFAT is not.
FAT32 volumes can exceed 4 GB (USB sticks are typically formatted FAT32 for use out of the box). The per-file limit is 4 GB.

Is there a way to re-download the Nook app or is there a better one for my 10 year old to download/buy books with?

Thanks
Isn't there a Nook app in the play store you can download?
The Nook app in Google Play doesn't automatically install onto NOOK devices! You can sideload the apk though, and it seems to have good reviews.

This is probably because the Play Nook app is not the same as the stock app. IMO the stock "Reader" app in the NOOK HD's skinned OS is much better than the Play app, but nobody has figured out how to sideload it with custom ROMs. 🙁

IMO Moon+ reader isn't as nice as the stock Reader either. The free version won't load PDFs, and the textured page backgrounds are less readable than a neutral background color. I haven't tried Aldiko yet.

Considering B&N hasn't updated the NOOK's software in a long time, I still think it's worth switching to CyanogenMod. I'm sure eventually we'll even get KitKat. I do with I could have kept the stock B&N Reader app.

Just this morning my HD+ updated to 2.2 firmware - haven't really seen any big changes. I think the changelog is posted but I didn't look closely at it.

hah, interesting. I loaded CM10.1 just two nights ago.

Guess I could go back if I must have the stock Reader app, but I probably won't bother.

I have two of the HD+'s - I'm a sucker for a good deal. One is running 10.1 and one stock still for the reader.

Love the screen on these.

great screen, SoC is a bit dated but still usable. It's not a slam dunk steal like it was this summer when literally nothing out there could match its value. But $110ish with an official CyanogenMod is still a nice deal.

I could probably make do with an 8" tablet like a new iPad mini, but I see no way I'd be able to use a Nexus 7 or comparable small screen.

I looked at the changelog for software 2.2 and it's pathetic. No reason to rollback except for a warranty issue or to keep the stock Reader app.

i've moved on to CM11 nightlies 🙂

is performance improved over the stock in a noticeable way? i got the 9 for my kids last year and it works great for videos and a few games, but sometimes its sluggish. thinking about getting another [2 kids, 1 tablet, and one upcoming very long flight]

CM 10.2.1 update is out for ovation. Anybody do an in-place update?

Please don't use the Hot Deals forum for stuff like this. It's for discussion about the deal itself and bumping it looks like the deal is going again.

We have the Mobile Devices & Gadgets forum for a reason
