Yeah, I saw that. Looks good, not sure what what some posters mean about it being underpowered. :hmm:
Have you seen the Tech Crunch video? It's dreadfully slow; the Nook was dropping frames left and right trying to keep up with scrolling.

Well they tried the undercutting thing. The publishers said oh no no no no you can't do that. We don't care if you are the one taking a loss by lowering the prices, if you keep doing this we won't give you the rights to the ebooks. Amazon fought and fought but due to competitors like Apple giving in, it was a fight they couldnt win.

Sorry, by "undercutting" I meant publishers need to get on board with adjusting pricing. At this point, nearly everyone has access to kindle in one form or another. If they move to undercut.. or even just match.. paperpack, they can potentially sell to more people.

Cortex A8 processor. Good so far. Now we just need to know how fast its clocked and how much memory it has.

I can only guess it won't be much, memory wise. It's a $250 device, even unlocked and overclocked, it probably won't be as smooth as the $500+ tablet market.

i havent tried to look it up yet but if it also gets you free 3g internet like kindle it would be an awesome deal

The current nook Color being advertised does not have a 3G modem in it. Its wifi only. Probably intentionally left of 3G, with an OMAP class SoC in it.

This is something that irritates me. There is no damn reason why an ebook, considerably cheaper to distribute and sell, should cost the same as a print book. Add the restrictions in lending, sharing, resell for the ebook, and tying it to a single device, and we have a problem. Unless your goal is to exponentially increase piracy of ebooks . . .
